From today, Monday 1 December, works will start to dismantle and remove the escalators in the main reception at St Peter’s Hospital.
It is expected these works will take four weeks, during which time there should be minimal disruption.
Thank you for your patience while these works take place.

This week, to celebrate Maternity Support Worker (MSW) day, we were honoured to hold the MSW conference at Ashford Hospital Education Centre. Delegates came from across the Southeast, including Kent, South West London, Sussex, Hampshire, as well as the MSWs from ASPH.
The day featured a dynamic mix of guest speakers, interactive sessions, breakout discussions, and specialist MSW insights. Attendees had the opportunity to network, share experiences, and explore career development pathways.
With expert-led discussions on workforce frameworks, staff retention, specialist MSW roles, and education pathways such as the Foundation Degree and Maternity Degree Apprenticeship, the conference offered a rich blend of practical information and inspiration.
Above all, the event was a chance to reflect on the dedication and impact of MSWs and to celebrate the incredible work they do every day.

Progress continues on our new Macmillan Cancer Support Centre at Ashford Hospital, due for completion in early spring 2026.
Concrete has now been poured and the building shell is beginning to take shape, marking an important step in the construction programme.
Once finished, the centre will offer practical support and a dedicated space for people living with cancer.

We can prevent men's violence against women and girls .
This White Ribbon Day, we are proud to support and highlight the important role men play in ending violence against women and girls.
At Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals, we are committed to creating an environment where everyone feels empowered to stand up to abuse and harassment.
Together, we can end violence against women and girls by challenging the harmful attitudes and behaviours that allow gender-based violence to happen.

Ashford and St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the largest provider of acute hospital services in Surrey and serves a population of around 415,000 people across North West Surrey and parts of Hounslow.
We provide a whole range of services across our two hospital sites - Ashford Hospital, Middlesex and St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey.
The majority of planned care, like day case and orthopaedic surgery and rehabilitation services, is provided at Ashford, with more complex medical and surgical care and emergency services at St Peter's. Both hospitals provide a wide range of outpatient clinics.
Our specialist services include orthopaedics, cardiology, vascular services, bariatric surgery and neo-natal intensive care. The Trust works hard to ensure quality remains our top priority and we have been rated overall as 'Good' by the Care Quality
Commission, following a full inspection of our hospitals in December 2014 and follow up inspection in February 2017 - great news for local patients.
The Trust has been nominated as a top 40 hospital by CHKS (a national provider of healthcare intelligence) based on a number of important quality and safety indicators for five years running. We have also recently been reported as one of the top performing hospitals nationally for hip fracture care and have seen much improved results in the latest NHS Staff Survey.
See our website at www.asph.nhs.uk for more details on our services and the Trust.
