😊 Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) empowers our Amore Complex Care clients to achieve their personal goals, living their best lives.

Led by our experienced PBS Lead, Jasmine Wood, our service works collaboratively with each individual, their families , support network and other professionals to develop personalised PBS plans. To do this, Jasmine and our support teams build a strong relationship with the person they are supporting.

Being person-centred is all about learning our clients' likes, goals, and wishes and taking this into account when supporting behaviours of concern.

Jasmine supports our clients in their daily environments to understand what might trigger distress, reducing anxiety, enabling staff to respond with confidence and compassion to their needs.

Our service is led by continuous improvement where Jasmine provides debriefs, evaluates lessons learned and identifies opportunities for our support staff to attend additional training. 💚 Amore Complex Care Support Worker, Christina Wallington, is going the distance for a cause close to our hearts.

On 19th April, Christina will take on the Adidas Manchester Marathon in support of the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association UK - a vital charity providing support and resources to individuals living with Prader-Willi syndrome and their families.

Christina is fundraising in honour of SB, one of our Complex Care clients, using this challenge to raise awareness for a condition that deserves greater understanding and support.

With every mile, Christina is helping to make a difference - raising awareness and funds to support individuals affected across the UK.

🤔What is 'PEG feeding'?

If you’re new to the care sector, you may have come across the acronym "PEG", which stands for a Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy tube.

This is a tube inserted directly into the stomach through the abdominal wall, providing essential nutrition when eating or swallowing normally becomes challenging.

Within our Amore Complex Care division, our Registered Nurses oversee our Clinical Support Workers, who are comprehensively trained in PEG feeding.

You will also undertake extensive training as a member of our Amore Social Care agency if you will be supporting a person using a PEG - enabling you to provide confident, quality care.

World Down Syndrome Day is here! This Saturday, the topic is .

People with Down's syndrome should be valued and involved in every part of society. We are proud to say that our Complex Care clients are fully supported to engage in their local communities through their hobbies, clubs and regular social interaction.

Our holistic approach to supporting our clients with Down's syndrome includes:

⭐ 24-hour continuity of complex care, with shifts being a minimum of six hours
⭐ Support for individuals with a learning disability, tailored to their unique abilities
⭐ Collaborative care with the individual and their support network, using inclusive communication methods

💚Andrew is redefining what it means to be "macho" - and it starts on the rugby pitch with Tough Enough To Care.

Our Amore Complex Care Support Worker, Andrew Hignett, is no stranger to fundraiser rugby matches. He has supported the children's charity of rugby Wooden Spoon and the charity Wheelchair for Fiji earlier this year, having been involved in rugby fundraisers for a number of years.

On 21st March, Andrew is representing the Flaming Unicorns - the official team of Tough Enough To Care- in the Rugby Extravaganza to raise funds for those in need of mental health support.

Accessible to all and aimed predominantly at men, the mission of Tough Enough to Care is to support those who fall into the trap of having to act "macho" or "tough" instead of talking about their feelings.

💚 Finding forever homes with Amore Complex Care and Magenta Living!

Two of our Amore Complex Care clients have now moved into their fantastic new bungalows, thanks to an incredible partnership with Magenta Living and Halton Borough Council.

Ian McDougall, Group Managing Director at Amore Complex Care, said: "By working closely with Magenta Living, Halton Council, health professionals and commissioners, we’ve been able to create homes that provide both safety and opportunity, meeting the complex needs of the people we support while giving them independence, stability and longevity."

He was then proudly handed the keys by Amanda Wrenn, Head of Supported Housing Acquisitions at Magenta Living, marking a special moment in this collaborative journey.

Our staff, and most importantly our clients, are absolutely delighted with the new homes. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this transition smooth and successful!
