🥳 We’re proud to share some fantastic feedback from My Life Legacy, where one of the people we support attends dance, drama, and educational sessions.

Supporting individuals to build skills and have fun at the same time is so important - and it’s always so rewarding to see this reflected in the day centres some of our Amore Complex Care clients attend.

During a recent session, the Art and Gymnastics Leader highlighted the thoughtful, person-centred approach of our support team. From supporting fine motor skill development, to using visual communication and offering meaningful choices, the team ensured the individual could fully engage and express their needs. They also took the time to personally thank each member of the day service team, recognising the value of the session provided.

Day services like My Life Legacy play a vital role in helping the people we support connect with their communities.

We truly value their services, and we cannot be more proud of our support team for dedicating themselves fully to the person they support! 💚

🤔What is an Advance Care Plan?

If you’re new to the care sector - or you are looking to support a loved one - you may have come across the term 'advance care plan'.

This is a plan made in advance for an individual’s care preferences, guiding healthcare professionals and Support Workers on the person’s preferences, dislikes and goals.

An advance care plan is about choice, dignity, and putting the person at the centre of their care.

Through regular reviews, these plans help us to ensure someone’s wishes, preferences, and values are understood and respected — now and in the future.

World Health Day is here!

Today, we’re highlighting the importance of promoting health and wellbeing across every aspect of care.

Both our Amore Complex Care CQC 'Good' rated services and our Amore Social Care agency staff promote every aspect of wellbeing.

Our holistic approach includes:

⭐ Promoting health in all aspects - our Complex Care and our agency teams are trained to deliver care in a variety of areas to promote health.
⭐ Clinical support - our dedicated Amore Complex Care clinical team are overseen by Registered Nurses, and our agency recruits for Registered Nurses among other roles.
⭐ Maintaining dignity - in both our divisions, our staff are trained to maintain the individual's privacy and empower them to shape their wellbeing support.
⭐ Enabling consistent teams - our stable Complex Care staffing teams learn and adapt to clients' routines, allowing them to spot health conditions early on, as is the case with the permanent and temp-to-perm agency placements at Amore Social Care.

A cracking Easter success for SB, our Amore Complex Care client ! 🐣

After getting into the spirit early and starting her letter to the Easter Bunny at the beginning of March, SB has topped it off in the best way possible.

This week, she won Best Easter Bonnet at The Vibe and between the bunnies, carrots, and the basket, we are absolutely wowed by her creativity!

Thank you to the team at The Vibe for their support, as well as our brilliant Support Workers who help make achievements like this possible.

🥳 What a wonderful testimonial to read!

This Autism Awareness Day, we’re reminded of the incredible things people with autism can and do achieve with tailored support.

🙌 Just last year, Victoria’s daughter graduated with six certificates from her college placements.

Everyone should be empowered to achieve their goals, and we are proud to see our Amore Complex Care client thrive. Here’s how we supported Victoria’s daughter to live a high-quality life:

⭐ Making adjustments to her sensory environment, including attending autism-friendly screenings and sensory sessions at a local aquarium
⭐ Supporting transitions between activities and helping her prepare for situations using social stories
⭐ Promoting independence, enabling her to make choices and engage in everyday domestic activities
⭐ Encouraging engagement with local community spaces and day centres, while supporting her overall wellbeing through appointments
⭐ Working collaboratively with her support network, including Victoria, who has attended multiple office-based activity days with her daughter

Our principles of complex care never change, but our approach to each person does. After all, no two people with autism share the same personality or needs. It’s our role to tailor support to each individual’s unique preferences and goals.

😊 Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) empowers our Amore Complex Care clients to achieve their personal goals, living their best lives.

Led by our experienced PBS Lead, Jasmine Wood, our service works collaboratively with each individual, their families , support network and other professionals to develop personalised PBS plans. To do this, Jasmine and our support teams build a strong relationship with the person they are supporting.

Being person-centred is all about learning our clients' likes, goals, and wishes and taking this into account when supporting behaviours of concern.

Jasmine supports our clients in their daily environments to understand what might trigger distress, reducing anxiety, enabling staff to respond with confidence and compassion to their needs.

Within our Positive Behavioural Support Service, clients:
💚Thrive without unnecessary restriction
💚Enjoy a good quality of life with their support circle
💚Have their needs met in a safe and effective way
💚Are at the heart of our service

Our service is led by continuous improvement where Jasmine provides debriefs, evaluates lessons learned and identifies opportunities for our support staff to attend additional training.
