Many older people "get by" at home with support from their family. Then an 'event' happens - such as a fall - and things become much more difficult. This is the story of how Promedica24 Cheshire helped one lady to get the care she needed, and stay in her own home.

Getting the right care for mum, after a fall and a diagnosis of dementia is a challenge for all the family.

I started Promedica24 Chester & Cheshire to make a difference to those living with old age, frailty and illness.
Supporting the Hospice of the Good Shepherd with their Bauble Appeal helped make that difference for those with loved-ones in their care over the Christmas holidays. The Hospice needs £11,000 per day to keep caring for the local community when it comes to terminal illness.
On a very personal level, the Bauble was there for the father-in-law that I never met. He sadly died from cancer before I knew Jane. The Hospice in Bristol (St. Peter's) was a source of comfort for all my wife's family during that difficult time.
As I come to take this year's decorations down, this Bauble is a poignant symbol that not everyone is as fortunate as myself - and having a Hospice locally is not to be taken for granted.

Many older people become lonely and isolated on the passing of their partner. They don't look after themselves as they once did and this can lead to loss of confidence and further isolation.
This is Peter's story - overcoming loneliness and sparking his zest for life with the right care from Promedica24.
