As the year draws to a close, it’s common to think of the people who are special to us – especially those we've lost. That’s why we’ve chosen to take part in Light a Candle.

From 15 to 21 December we’ll be posting digital candles in memory of those who can’t be with us during the festive season. If you’d like to create a virtual candle, please click the following link where you can choose a design and write a short message to a loved one.

There's no cost for you or your family to get involved and create an online memorial.

We’re pleased to announce the return of Light a Candle this Christmas!

Taking part in this Christmas’s Light a Candle gives you the opportunity to create online memorials throughout the festive period.

Christmas is a special time to celebrate with family and friends, and our virtual candles are a thoughtful way to pay tribute to loved ones who are no longer with us.

We'll be sharing virtual candles on our page between 15 and 21 December. There's no cost for you or your family to get involved and create an online memorial.

Millicent Henry

Millicent passed away at the Countess of Chester Hospital on the 10th of November 2025, agd 94 years.

Millicent will be dearly missed by all of her loving family and by all who knew her.

The funeral service will take place at Flintshire Memorial Park and Crematorium on Wednesday 10th December 2025 at 11am.

*Final Shout Out: Christmas Appeal for Chocolate Treats*

This is our last call for chocolate treats for the Christmas Appeal for Home-Start Flintshire! If you would like to contribute, please make sure your donations are handed in by Friday.

Every chocolate treat donated helps to bring a little extra joy to children who might otherwise go without this festive season.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has already donated. Your kindness and generosity are making a real difference in our community, ensuring that more children experience the magic of Christmas.

Let’s come together for one final push! Your support means the world to children who may go without over Christmas. Please drop off your chocolate donations by Friday and help us spread some festive cheer!

Donations can be dropped at either of our offices.
Broughton: 9am – 5pm
Saltney: 9am – 4pm

Jacqueline Futia
"Jacky"

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of Jacqueline Futia, who died unexpectedly on the 4th of November 2025, aged 60 years.

Jacky was cherished by all who knew her and will forever be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and boundless love.
Her absence leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of her devastated family and friends. Jacky’s legacy will live on in the memories and lives of all those she touched. She was truly loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Jacky’s funeral service will take place at St. Deiniol’s Church on Wednesday 26th November 2025 at 11am, followed by interment at Hawarden Cemetery at 12 noon.

Kelly Ann Davies

Kelly passed away unexpectedly at home in Shotton on the 4th of November 2025, aged 47 years.

A truly lovely lady whose warmth, kindness and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Kelly will be deeply missed by her family, who now face an immeasurable loss. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Kelly's funeral service will take place at St. Mark's Church in Connah's Quay on Thursday 4th December 2025 at 10.45am followed by interment at Kelsterton Cemetery at 12 noon.

Michael O'Marah
16th July 1947 - 4th November 2025

Michael's funeral service will take place at Flintshire Memorial Park and Crematorium on Wednesday, 3rd December 2025 at 1pm.

At Michael's request, please don't wear black! Just casual attire and if possible wear something green.

Donations in memory of Michael will be gratefully accepted on behalf of Wales Air Ambulance and Penrhyndeudraeth Memorial Hall.

Gordon Roberts

Gordon passed away peacefully at Wrexham Maelor hospital on 22nd October 2025, aged 88 years.
Gordon, who is now reunited with his late wife Rosemary, will be deeply missed by his loving family.
They will cherish the memories they shared together and hold him in their hearts forever.
The funeral service will take place at 1pm, Friday 21st November 2025 at Flintshire Memorial Park and Crematorium.
Donations in memory of Gordon will be gratefully received either on the day or via the website on behalf of Dementia UK.
