It’s Purple Day today 💜
The recognised awareness day for Epilepsy.

Having the right training to know how to administer buccal injections could save the life of someone having an epileptic emergency.

Buccal medication is administered by inserting an oral syringe into the buccal cavity, which is the space between the gum and the inner cheek.

The Decent Simulators Buccal Injection Trainer provides a cost-effective and safe way for Epilepsy Nurses and other clinical trainers to teach this lifesaving skill.

You can find out more about the buccal trainer on our website here 👇🏻

Clarity comes from realism, not simplification.

That is what the 3D Anatomy range embodies. Anatomy, exactly as it appears. 🫀

Erler-Zimmer have developed a wide range of anatomy replicas from real patients and radiological patient data. They depict clinically relevant anatomical areas of real human anatomy in 3D, designed specifically for education, not display.

From a life-size heart showing internal chambers and vessels to detailed limb dissections that reveal nerves, muscles, and blood supply in context, these models help learners understand the structures and how they relate to each other in three dimensions, not just what they’re called and how they look on paper.

Invest in real anatomy for your learners – check out the entire range on our website 👇🏻

Communication skills training has always been vital, but it hasn’t always been scalable.

That’s why it was encouraging to see the BBC lend their platform to recognising the importance of healthcare communication training and AI’s supporting role in its development.

Because SimFlow.ai isn’t an exercise experimental tech, it’s an intuitive, scalable response to real training pressures.

The BBC interview with Dr Chris Jacobs highlighted how platforms like SimFlow.ai are helping educators:

📈 Scale communication skills training
🧑‍⚕️ Ease workforce bottlenecks
🤓 Give learners safe, repeatable access to realistic scenarios

You’ve seen SimFlow.ai in action during our webinar. Now you can explore what it could look like in your setting.

Master collateral arterial blood flow – not just needle technique 💉

When it comes to Arterial Blood Gas sampling, true competence isn’t just procedural, it’s about knowing how but also when it is safe to do.

Textbooks can teach the steps, but the ABG & Allen Test Training Model from BT Inc allows you to teach your students the sensations, timing and decision cues that are vital to the success and safety of the procedure.

Here’s how:

🟡 Palpate lifelike pulse at the radial artery
🟡 The colour of the palm changes while performing an Allen test
🟡 Changeable pulse intensity and rate
🟡 Check the backward flowing of blood while arterial puncture training
🟡 Realistic resistance at the arterial wall during arterial puncture training
🟡 Hard to find needle marks after punctures

Set your learners up with the skills to read realistic perfusion and colour feedback cues from the very beginning.

At Sim & Skills we proudly facilitate conversations, highlight issues and give a platform to solutions that serve the continued improvement of simulation-based learning and patient safety.

That’s why we resonate so much with this year’s theme: Give to gain.

We know that when we give robust, representative training, we gain better outcomes in clinical practice. However, this is not the case for female representation in healthcare simulation currently.

So, this International Women’s Day, we’re reflecting on what healthcare gains when gender representation is commonplace in training. Below we’ve highlighted recent research and insights into lacking female representation in healthcare simulation, the detriment it causes, and how remedying this serves the betterment of clinical training and patient outcomes.

Healthcare is for everyone. Simulation should be too.

Precision matters in tube feeding and tracheostomy care - not just for passing assessments, but for patient safety and quality care.

Misplaced tubes or incorrect handling can lead to serious complications, but regular practice of these ‘blind’ procedures build confidence and competence.

With the NG Tube Feeding, Tracheostomy Care and Suction Trainer it allows learners to:

⚕️Master correct NG, OG and PEG tube placement and procedural competence

⚕️Confidently confirm safe tube positioning and recognise signs of misplacement

⚕️Uphold Infection control practice

⚕️Drill their accuracy and muscle memory to ensure patient comfort

⚕️Develop adaptability to varied patient positioning, fluid usage and tube placements

The BT Inc Tube Feeding, Tracheostomy Care & Suction Trainer lets learners practise a varied set of key EN tube skills — from NG/OG/PEG tube placement to suctioning and tracheostomy care — again and again in a realistic, safe setting.
