Yesterday we celebrated a very special lady here at Brookholme. our lovely Margaret, who turned 96! 🎂✨

She spent the day surrounded by love, laughter and of course a tasty cake! It was a lovely day for a truly lovely lady. 💖

Happy Birthday, Margaret! We all hope you enjoyed your special day🎊

Remembrance Day at Brookholme❤️.

Yesterday we took a quiet moment to reflect and honour all those who gave so much.

Yesterday morning at Brookholme, our residents coloured beautiful purple poppies. A special tribute to remember not only the fallen, but also the animals who served alongside them. 💜

We then joined together for the two minute silence, taking time to remember, reflect, and give thanks. 🌺

Bonfire Night at Brookholme ✨

We had a lovely cosy day celebrating Bonfire Night in our own special way!

Some of our residents got creative this afternoon, making beautiful bonfire pictures using wooden sticks and autumn leaves collected from our gardens. The colours and textures looked so lovely, true autumn magic right here at Brookholme! 🎨🍁

For those who preferred a quieter afternoon, the lounge turned into a mini cinema! 🍿
We’ve been making our way through the Harry Potter films together over the past few weeks… and we’re now heading onto number 7! 🧙

Halloween Fun at Brookholme! 👻🎃

Firstly, we’d love to wish our wonderful Valerie who celebrated her birthday yesterday a very Happy 84th Birthday! 🥳🎂

We hope you had a fabulous day celebrating with us! (we especially loved the photos of you and your son out shopping and trying on Halloween masks!🤣)

It’s been a frightfully fun day here at Brookholme, filled with laughter, games, and plenty of sweet treats! Our residents had a brilliant time playing witches hat hoop toss and spider hoops, followed by a cosy afternoon watching the Halloween movie “The Curse of Hallow Bridge.” 🍿🕸️

From ghoulish giggles to ghostly games, we’ve certainly made the most of spooky season! 👻💜

Spooky season has well and truly arrived here at Brookholme! 👻

Our residents have been getting hands on with all things Halloween today, from pumpkin scraping to spooky crafting!

We had a go at carving out our own pumpkins, and there were plenty of giggles when it came to scooping out the insides, it’s safe to say the slimy texture made for a fun sensory experience!🤣

We’ve also been busy making our own Halloween decorations, the lounge is now starting to look frightfully festive, and we’re all getting excited for the Halloween celebrations still to come! 👻✨

It’s been a busy (and absolutely brilliant!) weekend here at Brookholme 🎉

We kicked things off by celebrating our lovely Peggy’s 85th birthday and of course, no birthday is complete without cake, candles, and plenty of laughter! 🥳🎂

Wishing Peggy the happiest of birthdays and another wonderful year filled with love and smiles!

And if that wasn’t enough excitement, the weekend fun continued with a lively game of balloon volley! 🪩

While it’s always a home favourite, there must’ve been something in the air this weekend, because our residents couldn’t stop laughing and cheering! Even before the balloons were blown up, the ladies were waving their batons around in anticipation, ready for action!🤣

🪔✨ To mark the final day of our Diwali celebrations here at Brookholme, we spent the day reflecting on thankfulness and joy.

Our residents took time to fill out special questionnaires, sharing what they’re most thankful for and what brings a smile to their faces!

It was such a heartwarming way to end our week of light, love, and celebration 💫

Day 3 of Diwali Celebrations at Brookholme ✨

Yesterday marked the celebration day of Diwali, the Festival of Lights and our home was absolutely glowing! 💛

Residents, families, and staff all joined in the celebrations, filling the day with laughter, colour, and the most incredible aromas. We tucked into delicious Indian dishes and sweet treats, tried on beautiful traditional clothing, enjoyed some wonderful henna designs, and even had a little dance or two! 🌸🪔

In the morning, we took a quiet moment to reflect, writing down our worries and placing them in our Diwali worry box, symbolising letting go of negativity and welcoming light, love, and hope for the year ahead💫

A huge thank you to Lahithya and Albert, who spent the entire morning preparing a stunning Indian feast for everyone. The flavours, the care, and the joy you brought to our celebration made the day truly unforgettable!

Here’s to light over darkness, joy over sorrow, and togetherness in every moment.

Diwali Celebrations at Brookholme ✨

Our Diwali celebrations have well and truly begun here at Brookholme, and everyone has been getting involved in the preparations for this beautiful Festival of Lights!

Over the weekend, we started by giving the home a good tidy and making sure everywhere was looking lovely ready for the celebrations ahead. Once everything was sparkling clean, it was time to start preparing all of our beautiful decorations and adding some colour and light around the home💫

Yesterday, our residents got creative with some wonderful arts and crafts, making colourful paper plate candles decorated with glitter to symbolise the light that Diwali celebrates, the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.

We are enjoying learning about the traditions of Diwali and getting hands on with all the festivities!

Wcan’t wait to continue the celebrations throughout the week! 🪔💛

Things have been getting very creative here at Brookholme this week! 🎨

We’ve been busy painting, sticking, sprinkling glitter (everywhere!😂) and turning paper plates into the most dazzling fireworks to hang up around the home!

Armed with paper straws and bright strips of tissue paper, we also crafted our very own sparklers ready to shine for our upcoming Diwali celebrations! 🪔✨

It’s safe to say Brookholme is sparkling from top to bottom right now, and we’re loving every minute of it! 🤩

It’s been all fun and games here at Brookholme over the last few days! 🏌️‍♂️

We’ve had a few rounds of golf and beer pong, followed by some good old classic film requests. We enjoyed Footloose, Ghost, and even Saturday Night Fever 🎬🕺
