🌟Excellence Awards 2025🌟

Today marks the annual Excellence Awards for Practice Plus Group, at The Landmark Hotel in London. The event is dedicated to honouring some of our incredible colleagues who have been nominated across various catagories.
Barlborough Hospital has two staff members in the running for awards: Donna Weatherall, nominated for Behind the Scenes Worker of the Year, and Cheryl Hamilton, for Special Recognition in Secondary Care! They were all glammed up early this morning alongside their nominators, Sarah and Kara, and are ready for an unforgettable day!! 👏

Meet Mark - the 40,000th patient at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Barlborough to receive a joint replacement!🤝💜

🌟Positive environments are crucial for recovery🌟

Today, former patients, Gill, Enid and Mike visited Barlborough Hospital to assist with this year's PLACE audit (Patient-Led Assessment of the Care Environment) Under the guidance of Sarah Williams, Barlborough's Infection Prevention & Control Lead, and Mark Friend, Deputy Head of Infection Prevention & Control for Practice Plus Group, they concentrated on cleanliness, food & hydration, privacy & dignity, and accommodation 🏥
This assessment will aid us in upholding high standards or privacy, dignity and confort for patients.

🌟Consultants in the community🌟

Yesterday, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Mr Ferenc Toth delivered an insightful talk on hips and knees to the Chesterfield u3a group at Chesterfield Football Club. Its wonderful to engage with the community and raise awareness about Barlborough Hospital and the services we provide, equipping the public with information on patient choice, and what to expect when visiting the hospital for potential treatment 🏥

u3a are a locally run self-interest organisation that provides a wide range of opportunities for retired and semi-retired people to come together to live and experience activities, learn new things and laugh and have fun while doing so. They have over 900 members participating in nearly 80 groups so there is something for everyone!

Each poppy was lovingly crocheted, knitted, or felted, representing the care, respect, and gratitude we hold for those who have served and sacrificed. 🌺
