Please join us in wishing Funeral Celebrant Jonathan Reeve luck.

From January Jonathan will begin training to become a Priest with the Orthodox Church.

This has been his dream for a long time so as his friend we are so pleased for him.

With this great news comes a change for us all.

The religious restrictions mean he will no longer be able to conduct services at a crematorium so his 20 plus years at the front of the crematorium chapel will come to an end in a few weeks.

He will still be available part time in different locations and Chapels in Brimington, Staveley, Derby Road and Whittington Moor aswell as graveside burials and our Chapel at our Whittington Moor Funeral Home.

Mr David Anthony Woodward of Wingerworth has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, on
November 7, 2025, aged 75.

Born in Chesterfield and a resident of Chesterfield for 43 years, having spent 32 years in Norfolk. David was a retired quality engineer, working across various companies in Derbyshire, Norfolk and Surrey, until 2014.

His interests included sudoku, walking cafe visits, holidays and motor racing.

David leaves his wife Brenda, son Paul, grandchildren Jake and Scott, brother Michael, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

His funeral service takes place on Wednesday, December 10, Chesterfield Crematorium, at 11.30am.

Mr George Bradley of Tibshelf has passed away aged 92 years.

Born in Clay Cross George lived locally all his life working as a Miner at Parkhouse and Alfreton and then worked as a maintenance fitter at the Avenue Works until his retirement. After retirement he worked as a part time Coach Driver.

He enjoyed watching and playing football and cricket.

George leaves his wife Carol, daughter Karen, son Ian and stepsons Neil and James aswell as 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was pre deceased by his brother Keith.

His funeral service takes place on Wednesday 17th December at Chesterfield Crematorium at 11:30

Ms Kim Beardsley of Belper has sadly passed away peacefully on 22nd November 2025 aged 57 years.

She leaves behind her 6 children Jessica, Bryony, Chelsea, Harley, Finley & Bradley. Her 11 grandchildren, sister Sharon, her uncle Mick & his partner Sheila.

Kim's funeral will take place on Friday 12th December 10am at Swanwick Crematorium.

Mr Dennis Allen of Staveley, Chesterfield
has passed away on November 12, 2025 aged 84.

Born in Barrow Hill and a lifelong local resident, Dennis worked at Barrow Hill Railway, British Steel, and Staveley Chemicals, retiring in 1995

His interests included his allotment, running, long walks in the Peaks, karaoke, jigsaws, DIY, gardening, growing chrysanthemums, making things, and helping others with their gardens.

Dennis was predeceased by his wife, Pauline. He leaves daughter Tanith, sons Matthew and Stephen and seven grandchildren.

His funeral service takes place on Tuesday, December 2nd at Chesterfield Crematorium, at 14.30hrs.
