Mr John Hadfield of Boythorpe has passed away aged 77.

Born at Fairfield Nursing Home, John was a lifelong resident of the area. He had been employed as a printer’s assistant at Robinsons, a houseman at Chatsworth House and a support worker at United Response, before retiring at 66.

John was a member of Chesterfield & Derbyshire Dales Ramblers for nearly 40 years. He enjoyed many holidays with Diane and was a keen gardener. John also enjoyed watching his sons play football and rugby as children.

John leaves his wife of 52 years – Diane, sons – Stephen and Peter, and step granddaughter – Alyssa.

John’s funeral will take place at Chesterfield Crematorium on Tuesday 3rd March at 12:45pm.

Mrs Pearl Buckley of Staveley has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 76.

Born in Poolsbrook, Pearl had lived locally for 71 years. She had been employed at James Smith's, Staveley and Trebor, before retiring in 1985.

In her spare time, Pearl enjoyed socialising with family and friends, holidays abroad, knitting, sewing, reading, baking, and gardening.

Pearl was predeceased by son - Eion. She leaves children- Sylvia and Terry, 11 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

Pearl's funeral will take place at Chesterfield Crematorium on Tuesday 24th February at 9:45am.

Mr Richard Gage Barker of Dronfield has passed away at home aged 65.

Born in Barnsley, Richard had lived locally for 27 years. He had been employed as a sales rep with Howarth Timber for 40 years, retiring in 2023.

Richard was a keen supporter of Barnsley Football Club. He also enjoyed fishing, pool, rock music, cars and motorbikes.

Richard leaves his wife – Carole, step sons – Paul, Daniel, and Richard, and 8 grandchildren.

Richard’s funeral will take place at Hutcliffe Wood Crematorium on 24th February at 12:30pm.

Mr Brian John Flynn of Duckmanton has passed away at Woodmill Lodge Care Home, Sheffield, aged 85.

Born in Brimington, Brian was a lifelong resident of the area. Before retiring, Brian was employed as a fitter at Vinatex, the Avenue Plant, and Yorkshire Water.

Brian was the founder member of the Barrow Hill Engine Sheds, preventing its demolition. His spare time was also filled taking his son and grandson motorcrossing. In later years, Brian enjoyed attending steam rallies and was the mechanic for his other son in F2 stock car racing.

Brian was predeceased by his wife - Pauline, and son - Anthony. He leaves children - Karen, Trish, and Gary, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

Brian's funeral will take place at Chesterfield Crematorium on Monday 16th February at 1:30pm.

Mr John Philip Mosley of Walton has passed away at Riverdale Nursing Home aged 72.

Born in Staveley, John was a lifelong resident of the area. He served his apprenticeship at George Kenning as a car mechanic and then worked in engineering at Sheepbridge. He retired around 2004.

John had a great interest in cars, especially Formula 1. He enjoyed music and was a big fan of the Beatles. John also liked walking, holidays in Greece and spending time with his family.

John leaves his wife – Patricia, sons – Paul and Ryan, and six grandchildren.

John’s funeral will take place at Chesterfield Crematorium on Monday 9th February at 9:45am.

Mr Kevin Furniss of Newbold has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 69.

Born in Chesterfield, Kevin was a lifelong resident of the area. Kevin was a landlord working with his wife before becoming a drayman for 17 years. He then enjoyed his retirement

Kevin was a season ticket holder at Chesterfield Football Club. He was a big family man and loved spending time with his children. He enjoyed music especially Queen and Elton John and was also one for the odd cheeky bet.

Kevin leaves his wife – Karen, children – Craig, Simon, Mark, Lauren, Nicky, Kieley, and Wayne, and grandchildren- Ashleigh, Leighton, Alexia, Tyler, Maisie, Brooke, Amber, Emily, Isaac, Theo and Elsie.

Kevin’s funeral will take place at Chesterfield Crematorium on Thursday 26th February at 9:45am.

Miss Louise Radford of Sheffield has passed away at the Northern General Hospital aged 66.

Born in Aldershot, Louise had lived locally for 48 years. Before her recent retirement, she had been employed as a youth and community worker at Heeley City Farm, and as a psychiatric nurse at Lightwood.

In her spare time, Louise enjoyed arts and crafts, natural history, walking, reading, playing the guitar, camping, travel, and life music.

Louise leaves her partner - John, and daughters - Grace and Jenna.

Louise's funeral will take place at Hutcliffe Wood Crematorium on Friday 6th February at 2:45pm.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Sheaf House Hotel, 339 Bramall Lane, Sheffield, S2 4RH, to raise a glass and share memories of Louise.

Born in Bolsover, Jannette was a lifelong resident of the area. Before retiring, she had been employed as a domestic.

In her spare time, Jannette had a great love of dogs and enjoyed playing games on her mobile.

Jannette leaves her daughter - Cassandra, and grandchildren - Ruby and Charlie.

A private cremation will be taking place.

Born in Chesterfield, David was a lifelong resident of the area. Between 1965 and 1975 David was employed by British Rail as a fireman and then a driver.

In his spare time, David enjoyed model railways, cycling and DIY – he was always repairing or restoring something.

David leaves children – Marie and John, and grandchildren – Tash, Tilia, Grace, and Ilex.

Mr David Dodd of Holme Hall has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 87.

Born in Chesterfield, David was a lifelong resident of the area. After leaving school, David worked as a miner before becoming a training instructor with the National Coal Board. He was later employed as a lorry driver before retiring in 1999.

David played football for his school. In his spare time he enjoyed pigeon racing, golf, crown green bowling and cruises with his wife, Madeleine. More recently, he loved holidays abroad with his family. David was also a season ticket holder at Chesterfield Football Club.

David leaves his wife – Madeleine, children – Phillip, Paul, and Lindsey (he was predeceased by daughter – Catherine), and nine grandchildren.

David’s funeral will take place at Chesterfield Crematorium on Friday 13th February at 12:45pm.

Mr John Joseph Mulkeen of Middlecroft has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 84.

Born in Tulrahan, Claremorris, County Mayo, Ireland, John had lived locally for over 65 years. John was a retired plant operator, working for companies such as Fitzwise, Camm's, Laing's, and many more on large projects across the UK.

In his spare time, John loved driving, eating out, coach holidays and holidays in Chapel St Leonard's, where he and Maureen had a static caravan. He also enjoyed dancing, Irish country music and spending time with family and friends.

John was a devoted and beloved husband of Maureen and a beloved Dad, Brother, Grandad and Uncle.

Those wishing to attend John's funeral are encouraged to contact his family for more details.
