A Gift for Gav; Standing up to Brain Cancer

Wishing a belated, but very happy 9-year wedding anniversary to this super-human. 16-years, 4 children, 2 homes, lot’s of unfortunate accidents and illnesses along the way but we got through them together. 🤍💍🫶🏻

A welcome anniversary present was Gav’s latest scan which presented yet another slight reduction in tumour volume. Unfortunately, with such a decline in our fundraising group over the last 6-12 months, we have been struggling to raise enough funds to pay for treatment in Germany, the funds we have raised have been dwindling only just covering Gav’s daily protocol. Sadly, we have now had to review and begin reducing some of the medications in Gav’s protocol, and this has had a fluctuating impact on quality of life, making the last couple of months more challenging than previous times. While this has shown to have slowed down the rate of regression from previous scans, we remain hopeful that we will be able to push for further donations if we continue to try and reach a wider audience. Any help is so greatly appreciated - this could be a small donation, engaging with and/or sharing our posts, events and page, or kindly hosting an event or workplace event of your own.

We appreciate how much we have asked for over the last 22-months and couldn’t be more grateful - you have given us a year more than Gav’s original prognosis and helped us significantly improve his quality of life. Nothing could ever repay such kindness. We would like to keep trying as hard as possible to fight not just the disease, but also the often debilitating symptoms and side effects from treatment, so we ask for your help once more.

Thank you so much to all who attended our Charity Dance Fit Fundraiser event last weekend or bought tickets for the raffle. A particularly huge thanks to Tracey Hansen for giving up her time to put on such a fantastic event, and to the staff at Tupton Village Hall for helping us at such short notice after issues with our original venue. If love could heal, you would live forever. 🤍

Our fight is still very real. Brain cancer is still forgotten. Lives are still being disposed of. Only yesterday we learned of more bad news within our friendship circle. Only yesterday, another beautiful life was lost to this evil disease called Glioblastoma. A beautiful family much like ours with four young children. Children who have had their mother taken from them. Today on world cancer day we will take a minute to remember those who are gone, help those who are still fighting, and continue to raise vital awareness of one of the deadliest cancers with the most bleak prognosis. 💔🙏🏼

We are selling our 3/4 bedroom family home in Ashgate, Chesterfield to help fund Gav’s brain cancer treatment. 💔

We were only part way through our renovation project before having to make this decision, but having now found our next home (which will enables us free up some money out of the property to fund some of Gav’s treatment), we are now in a hurry to achieve a sale on our current home. 🙏🏼

With a finished property a few houses down having just sold for £360,000 and our neighbours home (which is slightly smaller) having sold for £305,000 at the end of last year, our home is a fantastic opportunity for investors, families, or first time buyers alike. 🏠
