We have some exciting news!🤩🤩

From 3rd January, we’ll be changing our name to ivolve.

We’re starting a new chapter for our organisation. Our new name will mark the introduction of a new name in the market. The legacy we share sets our foundations, giving us a unique opportunity to take the best of what we had before and build on this for the future.

ivolve is much more than a logo or a name. It’s about how we’ve evolved and how we’re creating a new way forward together. It reflects the size of our business and the future we have. We are fresh, we are modern, and we are ambitious in our goal to enable flourishing lives. This new way forward will set us apart.

We genuinely care and we love supporting people to set and then reach their goals. Because every person deserves the very best experience – every day!

Heathcotes services nationwide participated in last week’s Children in Need, supporting the cause with a variety of fundraising activities. Heathcotes Blythe Bridge organised a bake-off with Pudsey Bear-themed cupcakes and decorations. The standard of the contest was very high, and it was hard to pick a winner, but RS was awarded most ‘spotacular’ baker. He received a certificate from the judges in recognition of the achievement.

At Heathcotes, we believe that it’s very important to put the people we support at the centre of our activities, making sure they have the opportunity to get involved in every aspect of life at our services.

SJG, who lives at Heathcotes Moulton service, is always keen to take on tasks and develop her skills. Last week SJG asked to participate in our infection control training and her effort was spotless throughout the session. She took her PPE and hand washing very seriously. After completing the training, SJG was very proud to receive a certificate in recognition of her achievement. Well done, SJG!

Heathcotes services are taking part in the Remembrance Day commemorations with the creation of window and wall displays paying tribute to the community of armed forces, British and Commonwealth veterans, the allies who fought alongside the UK and the civilian servicemen and women involved in the two world wars and later conflicts.

The display at Heathcotes Humberston included "In Flanders Fields", the famous poem written by Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae, which inspired the use of the poppy as a symbol of remembrance.

Heathcotes services have never been afraid to sink their teeth into Halloween festivities and they’ve produced another spooktacular effort in 2022 with some demonic decorations and creepy costumes to mark the scariest day of the year. Our service teams and the people we support have demonstrated some hellishly good handywork to transform their interiors with skeletons, cobwebs, bats, ravens, mummies and giant spiders.

Heathcotes Morley held a hair-raising Halloween party welcoming all manner of ghoulish guests as visitors from our other services in Leeds arrived in some frightfully inventive outfits. They organised some fearsome fun which included a cake stall, tombola, Halloween bingo and a costume competition.

Heathcotes Rotherham have also been in high spirits this Halloween. As well as carving pumpkins and adorning the walls with a colony of bats, the people we support decided to build some scarecrows featuring the faces of various members of the service team. Service Manager, Rachael Hughes, received a startling welcome on return from holiday when she saw her own face staring back from one of the scarecrows in the front garden!

Heathcotes’ services in Staffordshire welcomed a collection of furry and feathered friends when they arranged some visits from a mobile petting farm!

Our Blythe Bridge service was first to greet the Farm on Wheels as it arrived with trailers carrying a variety of genial guests, from donkeys and ducks to chicks, chickens, goats and guinea pigs. The farmyard fellowship then popped over to our Crewe services and received an equally warm reception from the people we support.

Service Manager, Heather Wilkinson, said:

“The people we support at Blythe Bridge and Crewe love interacting with animals and we often arrange trips out to petting farms. This time, we were able to bring the animals to the garden and everyone was delighted when the trailers arrived.

“The Farm on Wheels is a fantastic operation. Their animals are carefully chosen and trained to be quiet and easy to handle. I’m sure we’ll be welcoming them again in the near future!”

Heathcotes services are participating in World Mental Health Day as our colleagues and the people we support get behind this annual campaign. This year’s theme is 'Make mental health and wellbeing for all a global priority.’

It is vital that we treat our mental health with the same care and attention as our physical health. Collectively and individually, we can create environments which encourage us to be open about our mental wellbeing and feel comfortable about discussing the problems in our lives.
