Female Support Workers
Full/Part time hours available
Based near West Malling, Kent
£13.50 to £16.50 an hour based on experience and shifts
Driver essential

We’re seeking some very special people to be part of a new support team for a delightful 14-year-old girl with physical and learning disabilities, living with her family in Kent. Our client attends a special school, and in term time requires support from 2 carers before and after school and overnight, plus longer hours at weekends and during the school holidays.

There is an occupational requirement under the Equality Act 2010 for females only.

As one of her support workers, you’d be responsible for providing a high-quality service, liaising with a multi-disciplinary team, the Case Manager and family members, to ensure that her health, educational, social, physical, psychological and emotional needs are met. You will be working in the client’s home and in the wider community, helping her to build confidence and become more socially active.

Previous experience in working with young people is desirable in either a paid or voluntary role, and a willingness to undergo training in supporting someone with an acquired brain injury is essential. If you have an empathetic, patient approach, this is an exceptional opportunity to develop your career within a supportive environment.
You will be offered a high standard of training and supervision to ensure that you succeed in your role.

A full driving licence and willingness to drive client’s wheelchair accessible car are essential and in addition an up-to-date DBS at enhanced level required – (the employer will pay if you need to apply for one).

Due to the varying needs and support requirements of the service user, the hours and rates are variable to meet the client’s needs. Shifts will cover a 24-hour period with a variety of long day/night shifts (normally 3:15pm – 9:15am) and short weekday shifts covering before school (6:00am – 9:15am) and after school (3:15pm – 8pm). These may be subject to change particularly between term time and school holidays.

If you are bright and proactive, can build good rapport, and are skilled at enabling people to achieve a good quality of life, then you will enjoy working with our client and her loving family.
