💐Special Occasion Grave Visits – Chichester & Surrounding Areas 💐

Mother’s Day can be a particularly emotional time for many people. If you weren’t able to visit a loved one’s grave this weekend, or live too far away to get there as often as you’d like, we can help.

At Harris Grave Tending, we offer special occasion flower drop-offs across Chichester and the surrounding area. We can place fresh flowers on a grave to mark important dates such as birthdays, anniversaries, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas, or any day that means something special to you.

We always place the flowers with care and will send you photographs afterwards, so you know everything has been done just as you would wish.

Mother’s Day can be a joyful day for many, but we know that for others it can also be a very difficult one.

Today can bring many different emotions — for those who are missing their mum, remembering a grandmother, thinking of a child who should still be here, or for those whose hopes and plans for motherhood didn’t quite turn out as they once imagined.

Please know that you are not alone in those feelings.

At Harris Grave Tending, it is always a privilege to care for the resting places of loved ones, especially on days that hold such meaning. We understand how important it is to know that someone is keeping a place looking peaceful, beautiful and cared for when you cannot be there yourself.

Today we are thinking of all the mums who are remembered, loved and deeply missed. 💐

Love does not end with loss — it lives on in memories, in the places we visit, and in the care we take to remember them.

In 2022 and 2023 we planted 1000 bulbs in this church in Upwaltham. We’d not had a chance to visit when they were in bloom before. Now we are in Chichester we were able to see them for ourselves! You will spot them from the road if you are passing!

We’re really pleased to share this recent marble headstone clean and renovation.

Over time, marble can become heavily weathered, stained and discoloured due to algae, lichen and general environmental build-up. With careful specialist cleaning, attention to detail and respectful restoration, we were able to bring this memorial back to a beautiful, dignified condition.

The difference speaks for itself 🕊

We’d also like to say a little apology for being quiet on here recently — it’s certainly not because we’ve slowed down! We are incredibly busy behind the scenes caring for and restoring memorials across the area, and we are so grateful for the continued trust and recommendations.

As we go about our work in cemeteries and churchyards, today especially reminds us of the importance of remembrance and respect for those who came before us.

🕰️ Ready to turn back time?

The clocks go back at 2am on Sunday 26th October, marking the end of British Summer Time. That means an extra hour in bed — and the start of longer nights and shorter days.

As the nights draw in and the days get shorter, those of us out working in all weathers know how precious daylight can be. At Harris Grave Tending, we’re still out there keeping graves tidy and cared for, whatever the season throws at us.

So before you cosy up for the evening, don’t forget to change your clocks — and maybe take a moment to remember those who came before us.
