Time to focus in on my family as much as possible ♥️

(and avoid Christmas-time doom scrolling as much as possible too, which as an occasionally frazzled mother has become too much of crutch!🫠)

We as birthing women are intelligent. We as birthing women get to choose who we listen to, what information we consume and what choices we make for ourselves and our babies that WE BELIEVE provide the best possible outcomes.

We as mothers understand, that there are no higher stakes when deciding these things.

‼️Doulas and Birthkeepers‼️I did not realise how my fears around freebirth were leaching into my work with women until AFTER I’d been supporting them for years.

Because the thing is, women’s bodies are so beautifully designed to birth that the vast majority of births outside the system you say yes to are going to unfold in stunningly easeful/powerful fashion.

So much so that like me, you might not even be aware of how your fears are affecting the birth space….until something happens when you really REALLY are.

Doulas - women choosing to freebirth was not just for the COVID era.

You’re committed to your clients knowing all of their birth options and passionate about supporting them no matter what they choose.

So are you talking to them about their option to freebirth? If not - why not?

Have you heard other doulas and birthworkers around you say this loudly and proudly? I have.

Like supporting birth outside the system is the marker of proof that you REALLY trust birth.

Has it made you doubt yourself?

Has it made you feel like there is no room to admit any fears you have about this work for fear of being judged?

Fear about being labeled as a doula that “doesn’t trust birth” or worse…”doesn’t trust women.”

Doulas and Birthkeepers you already do incredible work with women to challenge, explore and release their fears as they approach the birth portal.
