I’ve been doing some thinking after my stocking release didn’t quite go as planned — thank you so much to everyone who voted on my stories and shared your thoughts, it really helped me understand what’s going on.
A few of you mentioned that the designs or prices weren’t quite right for you, and I completely get that! There are so many beautiful options out there, but also I’d love to know how to improve mine.
You also shared that they’re quite expensive too. And yeah, they cost more than ones from the highstreet. So while I’ve made the decision to slash the prices, I also wanted to share a bit about how my stockings are costed.
Each one is completely handmade – my sister knits them (it takes her around two hours per stocking, so even working at £10 an hour, less than minimum wage, that’s £20) and I embroider them. They’re double layered, so the embroidery doesn’t snag, and they’re made with high-quality wool that costs about £6 per stocking before we even start working. Altogether, each one takes over six hours to make, and we try our best to keep prices fair while still valuing our time and effort.
That said, I know Christmas budgets are tight, so I’ve made some changes! 🎄
You can now tailor your stocking to your budget. For example, a simple letter design without extra details (like bows, tassels or bells) will sit around the £10–£20 mark (please message me if you want this, they are not on the website), while more detailed embroidered stockings will still be available for those who want the full keepsake version (at a significantly lower price than before)
And if you’ve already bought one, I’ll be refunding the difference between the old price and the new one. I want to make sure everything feels fair ☺️
Thank you all for your continued support, it means so much, and I’m really excited to see how these stockings do the second time around!
