A lack of sleep can have a surprisingly big impact on both our body and mind
🤧 Weakened immune system - When you don’t get enough sleep, your body produces fewer infection fighting cells, making you more likely to catch colds and take longer to recover.
😖 Increased stress and anxiety - Poor sleep raises cortisol (the stress hormone) leaving you feeling more anxious, irritable, and overwhelmed.
⚖️ Hormonal imbalance - Sleep is when your body regulates hormones, including those that control appetite, mood and energy. Without enough rest you may feel moody, hungrier than usual, or low in motivation.
