Staff and family members said she is always friendly, gives extremely good advice and helps when needed and she really has the residents best interest at heart. She covers shifts when needed and is an all round team player. well done Gill

The Ladies on Seaview enjoyed a visit from Jack from Smile through Sport on Tuesday. They joined in with throwing and catching and there was lots of laughs and shouts of encouragement going on. they are all looking forward to the next visit.

We had another visit from baby Ellie which the ladies and gents on first floor loved. we also had a visit from Bobby our new well being leads dog which also went down very well. we look forward to more visits from both Ellie and Bobby very soon

!7th March is St Patricks day and Wansbeck brought out the hats and t-shifts and got in the spirit. We had a lovely Irish Stew with little bread buns for lunch with Irish Ice cream to follow washed down with Guinness or wine with a few rounds of Danny boy, the Irish Rover, Queen of New York City and Molly Malone and a quiz.

We celebrated St Patricks day yesterday in style with hats and t shirts, a proper Irish stew for lunch followed by Irish Ice cream. we had a sing song with oh Danny Boy, queen of new York city and Molly Malone being the favourites. we had a quiz and a lovely chat about various patron saints. We all needed a nap after the wonderful lunch

We had a lovely afternoon with a late Mothers day afternoon celebration with the lovely Darren Hayward, he sangs songs by Elvis, Johnny Cash and Neil Diamond which we all loved. This was followed by Cheese, crackers nibbles and wine which also went down very well. Thanks again Darren and we look forward to seeing you back soon

Our ladies had a lovely day for Mothers day with lots of visits from families, a wonderful Sunday roast and afternoon tea . all of the ladies also received a small gift of a home made bouquet of a flower and chocolates from the home. the smiles show how much they enjoyed receiving these gifts. we are containing the Mothers day celebration today (Monday) with Elvis coming to see us and a cheese and wine afternoon. We have again been overwhelmed at the wonderful donations made for our Easter Raffle. we have a full table of prizes of Eggs, chocolates and wine. we also have a very special voucher for fresh cream cakes donated by our Manager Bev to be collected on a day of your choice. we are still accepting donations and Raffle tickets are available for £1.00 a strip at the home until the 2nd April when the raffle will be drawn at our Easter Party. we are looking on track to raise enough money to have two more entertainers this year

Marton Care Homes recently held its Marton care and St Marys award night. Our own Osita Chioma was nominated for the New to Care Award and he was over the moon to have won it, its very well deserved and Wansbeck are lucky to have him

We are again looking for donations for our Easter raffle prizes. Easter eggs, chocolate, wine or alcohol or anything we could use for prizes will be gratefully received.
We are planning our Easter party on the 2nd April at 2pm with Steve entertaining us, we are having an Easter Bonnet parade, a decorated Easter egg competition and lots more planned, all welcome to join us .
We also have a name the Lucky duck card in the home £1 a number and £50 for the winner, see staff if you would like a number.

February employee of the Month is Allannah. Allannah is a valued member of the Wansbeck team working as both Domestic and care assistant, she is hard working, flexible stays late if needed and picks up extra shifts. Her confidence has grown since she started last year and she has built up a wonderful relationship with residents and staff. She truly deserves to win this this month.
