We had a little impromptu trip to Blackpool yesterday.

Chris and Margaret loved having a tipple in weather spoons while watching people in the wet and windy weather 🌦️

They also bought some rock and nougat.

Top tips to help combat loneliness for older people. 🧡

Today is World Mental Health Day, a reminder that looking after our mental wellbeing is just as important as caring for our physical health.

Feeling connected is vital to good mental health, especially in later life. In our latest blog, we focuses on loneliness in elderly people, exploring the causes, how it impacts people, and the small acts of kindness that can make a big difference.

Through shared activities, community connections and everyday kindness, our teams help create places where people truly feel they belong.

Last week we had two amazing days out. First we had a trip to Blackpool and had a walk around the shops. Sat on the sea front and finished with a lovely hot brew at one of the Weatherspoons pubs. Our second trip out was to the Preston North End Football Club. We attended the connections group and enjoyed games, quizzes hot beverages and biscuits.

A year ago we had the honour of holding a wedding blessing for Kevin and his partner Ali who have been together over 20 years. To celebrate the anniversary we held a party on our Beech community. We had music, food, beautiful cakes made by Ali herself and dancing. We even had a special performance from the Beech staff singing the couples favourite song. A beautiful day celebrating a beautiful couple.

We had another amazing visit to Preston North End Football Club yesterday for the creating connections session.

The theme was arts & crafts this week and we all had lots of fun, using clay and different items to imprint on the clay to make coasters before painting them.
We are looking forward to seeing the finished product next week.

These are free weekly sessions for people living with Dementia and also support for their carers.
