🕯️ Holocaust Memorial Day Service 🕯️

On Saturday 24 January, Chorley’s Angels will be supporting the Holocaust Memorial Day Service at Chorley Cenotaph.

This is a time for reflection, remembrance and standing together against hatred and intolerance.

💚 Our volunteers will be present to provide First Aid support throughout the service.

🎅🏻 The Chorley’s Angels team kicked off the festive season in style at our Christmas Dinner!

Plenty of laughter, good food and lots of Christmas jumpers. It was a lovely way to celebrate our volunteers and get into the festive spirit before a busy weekend ahead.

A fun festive dash to support mental wellbeing. Whether you run walk or skip in your elf hat it’s all about community spirit and raising awareness for mental health. 💚

🎄 Christmas Fair in Buckshaw Village
📍 Unity Place Buckshaw Village PR7 7HZ
🕛 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM
A family friendly fair filled with stalls handmade crafts gifts and seasonal goodies.

🎅🏻 Leyland Christmas Lights Switch On
📍 Hough Lane Leyland Town Centre
🕓 12:00 PM to 5:30 PM
A full day of festive magic with live entertainment stalls fun for families and of course the big lights switch on to officially start the Christmas season.

Remembrance Day

At 11am today, we pause to reflect and remember. We remember the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who gave everything and those who continue to serve today.

Their legacy lives on in the freedom and peace we cherish. At Chorley’s Angels we will remember them.

Remembrance Sunday – 9th November 2025

Chorley’s Angels will be proudly providing First Aid cover at two Remembrance Day events this Sunday — in Chorley Town Centre and Lostock Hall.

📍 Chorley Town Centre
🕥 10:30 AM – 12:15 PM
Chorley Council

The parade sets off from St Thomas’s Road at 10:30 AM and makes its way to the Cenotaph in Astley Park for the Remembrance Service and two minutes’ silence at 11:00 AM, before returning to the Town Hall.

📍 Lostock Hall
🕐 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
South Ribble Borough Council

The service begins at 2:15 PM with the parade forming up on Brownedge Road outside the Royal British Legion. The service will be held at the War Memorial, Hope Terrace, followed by a wreath laying at the Youth Cairn before the parade concludes at 4:00 PM.

💚 Our volunteers will be on hand throughout both services, ensuring everyone can safely gather to honour those who served and sacrificed.

✨ We’re at the Walk the Lights event in Blackpool this Friday! ✨

📍 Bispham, Blackpool – along the famous Illuminations 🌟

💚 Chorley’s Angels First Aid Community Group will be on-site, providing First Aid cover throughout the evening to help keep everyone safe during this fantastic charity walk supporting local cancer care.

🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ Whether you’re walking for fun or fundraising, our friendly volunteers in green and high-vis will be there if you need us.

🌧🌪 After our original event date was cancelled due to Storm Amy, our annual Walk the Lights has been re-scheduled to this Friday, the 17th - and the weather is looking promising this time around! So if you wanted to walk with us and weren't able to register for the original date, you've got another chance 🙌

Do you fancy joining us for this family-friendly walk down Blackpool's famous illuminations? There's still time to get involved - our online entries close at midday on Friday!🗼🎡🎢🌟

The route is a flat, accessible five miles, setting off from our charity team's gazebo at Bispham between 6pm and 7.30pm with refreshments at the end served by our lovely volunteers - and of course by taking part, you'll be helping to raise crucial funds in support of local cancer care.

The Junior Mile is full, but there will be some entries available on the day for the Bryan Grundy Green Drive Five.

🏃‍♀️ Race HQ opens 7.45am on Sunday morning at Park View 4U – get there early if you’re hoping to grab a place.

It’s shaping up to be a brilliant day as we celebrate 25 years of this much-loved local race 💚
