At Chorley’s Angels, we’re proud to be part of the Chorley Theatre family, with two of our trained First Aiders present at every event. On opening night, when an audience member was taken ill, our volunteers were able to respond immediately — supported by caring audience members, theatre staff, and paramedics.
We’re also grateful that the defibrillator donated by Chorley’s Angels to Chorley Theatre was available and ready to be used when it was needed most.
Our thoughts remain with the lady as she continues her recovery, and we’re so thankful for the compassion, teamwork, and true community spirit shown on the night. This is what it means to look out for one another — and why we do what we do. 💚
Our opening night this week was even more dramatic than expected, as an audience member became ill towards the end of the first half. With the help of other audience members and our fabulous Chorley's Angels First Aiders treatment was quickly applied, our defibrillator was utilised, and the lady was treated until the ambulance quickly came. We are delighted to report that the audience member has made a full recovery, leaving hospital the next day and now having a good rest. The show went on, so congrats to our brilliant cast and crew, thanks to the understanding audience, and special thanks to the First Aiders and their swift action!
