Prescription Requests Before Christmas

To help local pharmacies process medication in time for the Christmas period, we kindly ask patients to submit any routine prescription requests by Friday 12 December 2025.

Our GP surgery will remain open as normal throughout Christmas, closing only on the official bank holidays. This request is not due to surgery closures, but to ensure that pharmacies have sufficient time to dispense your regular medication before their reduced holiday hours.

If your prescription is due around this time or you know you will need your medication before Christmas, please submit your request as early as possible.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us support safe and timely access to medication over the festive period.

๐ŸŸฃ Pancreatic Cancer Awareness ๐ŸŸฃ

Weโ€™re sharing an important message on our waiting room TVs this month to raise awareness about pancreatic cancer, because early recognition really matters.

Why this is so serious:
Pancreatic cancer has one of the lowest survival rates of all common cancers. Sadly, less than 7% of people live for 5 years or more after diagnosis. Itโ€™s also very aggressive. A lot of people are diagnosed late, and many donโ€™t survive long after diagnosis.

Warning signs to watch for:

โ€ข Unexplained weight loss
โ€ข Pain in the abdomen or back
โ€ข New-onset diabetes or changes in blood sugar
โ€ข Jaundice (yellowing of skin or eyes)
โ€ข Persistent tiredness or changes in digestion

Why weโ€™re supporting this campaign:
We believe in the power of early detection, spotting symptoms early gives us the best chance to act. By raising awareness, we hope more people will come forward with even vague or worrying signs.

If you notice anything unusual or concerning, please come and talk to us. Your health matters and weโ€™re here to help.

๐Ÿ“ข Service Update โ€“ Internet Outage Impact

Due to a major global internet issue affecting Cloudflare, some of our surgeryโ€™s support systems are currently disrupted.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Appointments are still going ahead as normal.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Clinicians can access medical records, so clinical care is not affected.

However, the outage is impacting:

Our telephone system
Text message/SMS services
Some other administrative and auxiliary systems

In an increasingly connected world, events like this show how global tech issues can have local effects, including on healthcare services.

Weโ€™re monitoring the situation and will update you as soon as everything is back to normal. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

You may have noticed a video in our waiting room recently about MyWishes. We wanted to share a bit more about what it is and why weโ€™re showing it.

MyWishes is a free online tool that helps people think about and record their wishes for the future, including health and care preferences, funeral wishes, digital legacy planning, and more. Itโ€™s designed to help you put your thoughts in one place so they can be shared with the people who matter most to you.

Our local ICB (Integrated Care Board) is encouraging its use to help people of all ages start thinking about their advance wishes, not just those with health conditions. Planning ahead can give peace of mind and make things clearer for loved ones in the future.

Please note: MyWishes is free to use, and we have no affiliation with the product.

๐Ÿ—๏ธ Important Notice: Building Work at the Surgery ๐Ÿ—๏ธ

From 15th September to 13th October 2025, our surgery will be undergoing some exciting building work to create additional clinical rooms and invest in modern, improved healthcare facilities for our patients. ๐Ÿฅโœจ

This is a positive step forward to help us provide even better care, but during this time, there may be some disruption.

๐Ÿ”น There may be some noise during the day.
๐Ÿ”น Some appointments may be held in different rooms than usual.
๐Ÿ”น Our car park may be busier than normal.

Weโ€™re working hard to keep disruption to a minimum, including doing as much work as possible at weekends and out of hours, but some inconvenience is unfortunately unavoidable.

๐Ÿ™ We really appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. The improvements will benefit all our patients, and we canโ€™t wait to welcome you to our updated space soon!
