We have a job role! Our first in a year!
We need someone who wants around 30 hours a week, is an amazing all round carer ideally with experience. Who drives, and has their own car, and is reliable and most of all friendly, helpful, has empathy and massive people skills

We have a small client round which is only based in chorley, no out of Chorley visits

We have a small company so you’ll be one of 5- no corporation here you’ll be seen and known and one of a real team, all local all available and we are keeping it this way- no grow grow grow pressure here-

A group of clients you’ll get to know closely, it isn’t like the big companies or my old company with referrals always coming in this is smaller, slower and private so you will know everyone, what they like what they love and how they take their ☕️…literally

This role is not personal care orientated, we don’t do it- we do housework, shopping, meal prep, outings, staying with people for safety while they shower, helping ppl with clothing, organising the home or appts or their life, even pet walks etc

You’ll work 1 in 3 weekends on a rota except to cover AL a few times a year ###

It’s £14ph plus cash for petrol each month

Why be this happy to go to the rubbish tip?

I’ll tell you why, 3 visits with a lady that struggles with a hoarding disorder- we were hired after nurses and social workers had raised concerns but no success,
The lady desperately needs room for a bed 🛌 because of her health needs but has so much stuff there’s no room for one

Well, today we finally won enough trust and mutual respect to be allowed to take many boxes and old Videos- 2 cars worth. It’s not a lot in perspective, but it’s a massive step towards trust/ admitting there’s an issue/ and accepting help. Hopefully this is the first step in making small practical changes that can impact this ladies health and the reduce wider need for health services.

You gotta understand people, and get on their wavelength to do this kinda work- and we love people. It’s about no BS, Just honesty, empathy and realistic goals. We have worked with many people who hoard and usually have great success…

So today, going to the tip absolutely did make us Happy

Please advise anyone you know, and for your info too- don’t get these “re chargeable” hot water bottles that are advertised all over social media and online,

Luckily our home helper Sam arrived as a client was using hers for the first time. No sooner had our client plugged it in, the whole thing burst into flames and was exploding.

If she had that pressed against her as they advise in the videos for heat relief,
Or in her or her child’s bed warming it- she would have been badly injured or have a whole house alight. It was so ferocious and hot instantly that the leather sofa is burnt.
It took only seconds!

As it’s an electrical fire you can’t put it out with water either, needs powder or smothering and it goes up BIG and FAST

Our Sam was there at just the right time, and managed to put it out and get rid of the thing.

Our client has mobility issues and equipment and couldn’t have managed if home alone.

Do NOT buy these things,
If you’ve already bought them return them.

Not safe at all

If you want to work for a small independant company; no chains no directors all hands on

Earn £13 starting rate per hour, then no end of rises and bonus’s

Have ONLY Chorley calls no driving here there and everywhere

Be able to train for free up to Diploma level,

Work as little as one day per week or whatever suits you- includes some weekends (typically 1 in 4) and holiday cover as needed as we all cover eachother

Be part of a small team where you’ll know everyone and be valued as an individual not just a number

No clinical work, hoisting, heavy work or clinical just helping people stay happy at home with your attitude and practical help with care, meal prep, cleans or activities

No back to back flat out rota’s there’s gaps in the days for a great work life balance

A town centre office that’s always happy to brew up when you pop in

Then join us. We really are very different to the standard home help, and nothing like the Big homecare companies. If you love care but not a fan of the care industry try a totally different way of doing it,

Chorley just won’t be the same, Malcolm was a great man, and a musical landmark for Our Town. So important to local music culture & the only place to buy new music we had. He was one of the hardest working people I have ever seen in our little town too, and dedicated to his family. Very inspirational. He never let us buy the music promo posters as teens from the window displays haha but running a tight ship over the years kept MML going.
Will be sadly missed, I do hope someone can continue his legacy in music.

It is with immense sadness that we share the news of the passing of our wonderful dad and grandad, Malcolm Allen. He passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 1st, after a courageous decade-long battle with prostate cancer, surrounded by his loving family.

Malcolm leaves behind his devoted daughters, Lucy and Alice, and his cherished grandchildren, Joseph and Serafina. Malcolm and his shop have been a significant presence in Chorley for decades, and his passing has already been deeply felt by so many. We miss him terribly.

We will share details regarding the funeral arrangements in the coming days. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Cancer Research UK in Malcolm's memory.
