We would like to say a big thank you to one of our special residents Mrs Fishwick for sharing with us one of her favourite Christmas stories.🎅🏻📚

“Twas the night before Christmas”

Not only did she read this book to her pupils as a teacher but also made it a family tradition to read it to her own daughter at Christmas growing up and then in later years her granddaughters.

Mrs Fishwick spent 40 years as a teacher, 10 years at St Cuthberts and 30 years at St Gregory’s here in Chorley.

Staff got into their cosy Christmas pyjamas with a nice hot drink and enjoyed sitting together so we could experience this lovely tradition that’s Mrs Fishwick holds dear to her heart. ☕️🎄

She is now a proud great grandmother and looks forward to passing this book on so the tradition can carry on for years to come.

We also ask for your help with any donations towards our Christmas raffle 🍫🎟️🍾

There is also a bedroom door decoration competition for family members to take part in… you can keep it traditional or go with crazy ideas… anything goes… doors will be judged and winner announced when all doors are complete. Good luck 👍🎄

Singing,dancing and lots of laughs 🎤🕺🏼

Our wonderful Jill had a dance with Elvis at every opportunity and some of the ladies were even lucky to be gifted a scarf from Elvis 😃

🇬🇧VE Day 80years celebrations🇬🇧

Residents and staff marked this memorable moment of 80years since Winston Churchill announced the end of the war in Europe.

We enjoyed listening to everyone’s personal stories and memories of their experiences and stories they experienced and passed down from their loved ones.

🎊We held our own street party with lots of food and music and everyone celebrated together🎉

For lunch our chef took us back in time and made war times foods using only ingredients that would have been available at the time of the war🥚🥛🥔🥧
