Last week, we were invited to take part in the Dementia Bus Experience—an impactful and eye-opening journey that offered insight into the challenges faced by those living with dementia, and how we can better understand, support, and empathise with them.

Gaining a deeper understanding of the people we care for is essential to delivering truly person-centred care. After the event, we invited members of our team who took part to share their reflections and learning, helping us all continue to grow and improve the care we provide.

Today we explored what life was like with Dementia. We've undergone the Virtual Dementia Tour to learn and understand what life is like for those who live with Dementia, so we can better empathise with our residents and be more reactive to their needs.

It was an incredible but humbling activity that allowed our staff to fully understand the difficulties and overwhelming sensations that a person who lives with dementia can have. We're constantly looking to learn and explore new opportunities to help us better serve those we care for.

Santa came to visit and made sure every resident received a gift, bringing lots of smiles and festive cheer. Everyone then sat down to enjoy an amazing Christmas dinner.
