Residents Brenda and Shirley, with volunteer Joan, brought a little sweetness to Mudeford Quay for Acts of Kindness Day! 🍪💛

Homemade shortbread biscuits from our chefs were shared with the local community, bringing smiles all around. A lovely afternoon of giving, chatting, and enjoying the quay’s beautiful scenery!

We recently had the pleasure of helping to celebrate a remarkable milestone for our volunteers, Joan and Mike, who have shared 65 happy years of marriage.

Over the past four months, they have been actively supporting our activities, bringing joy and companionship to residents through entertainment, one-to-one visits and participating in group activities.

We truly appreciate the time, energy, and care they dedicate to Avon Reach. Presenting them with flowers and chocolates was just a small way of expressing our gratitude for everything they do to enhance the lives of our residents 💐

We recently had the absolute pleasure of celebrating a truly remarkable milestone: Pam's 100th birthday!

Our talented chefs prepared a delicious selection of dishes, while the room was beautifully decorated to mark this very special occasion.

After spending time with family, in the afternoon, Pam joined fellow residents for a slice of birthday cake, gifts, and a cheerful chorus of “Happy Birthday.”

Our residents recently set off for a visit to the Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum 🏍️

In the days leading up to the outing, conversation and excitement had been buzzing, with many sharing fond memories of their own motorbike experiences and discussing their favourite models.

Our gentlemen enjoyed exploring the impressive collection at the museum before settling down with a hot drink and a slice of cake.

Our residents have been getting creative as we prepare for the festive season! With the kind support of our amazing volunteer, Joan, residents spent a joyful afternoon painting seashells.

These unique, hand-decorated treasures will soon take pride of place on our Christmas tree at Highcliffe Castle this December, adding a personal touch to the celebrations.

We were thrilled to celebrate Brenda’s birthday with a delightful minibus trip to Otters Nursery.

She was joined by two fellow residents, making it a cheerful little outing. The group enjoyed strolling through the garden centre, admiring the vibrant displays and exchanging ideas about plants and flowers.

The afternoon’s highlight was a visit to the cosy café, where Brenda and her companions savoured rich hot chocolates and generous slices of Victoria sponge. Brenda shared that it was the perfect way to celebrate her special day.

Three weeks ago, our residents picked flowers from our garden to press, having shared that it was something a few of them enjoyed as children.

We recently opened the flower presses to see how well they had dried and if they were ready to be used in some displays around our lounge.

The residents were all very impressed by how well the colour had remained, especially the purple ones. They were all incredibly happy with the results and said they can’t wait to do it again soon.
