🚨If you are heading to one of the direct admission areas of Gloucestershire's two main hospitals - Gloucestershire Royal and Cheltenham General - they are asking you to wear a mask.

This to help protect patients, visitors and staff while flu and respiratory illness levels remain high.

Masks are available at both hospitals for patients and visitors.

Full details below:

😷 Face masks in our direct assessment areas

To help protect patients, visitors and staff during increased respiratory illness, we are asking patients and relatives to wear a surgical face mask when entering our direct assessment areas at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General Hospital, wherever you are able to do so.

Masks are available at department entrances. If you cannot wear one, please let a member of staff know on arrival. These are temporary steps.

❌ If you have symptoms of flu or COVID‑19, please do not visit our hospitals.

Read the full guidance and the list of affected areas here 👉 https://www.gloshospitals.nhs.uk/about-us/news-media/press-releases-statements/face-mask-requirements-in-our-direct-admission-areas/

‼️ Urgent ‼️

Due to a high volume of staff sickness in our reception team, we have very limited staff available to answer calls today.

For patient safety, the online triage form has been temporarily switched off, as we have received a high number of urgent requests submitted through the wrong channel.
Therefore, all requests today must be made by calling reception, to ensure we do not miss any urgent needs.
Please only call if your problem is medically urgent for today

Please also be aware that we may need to close the front desk at short notice.

We will continue to provide care to the best of our ability, and we appreciate your patience and understanding during this challenging time.

Thank you.
