Have you ever had a day where you’ve hardly done anything…
and yet you feel completely exhausted?

It’s easy to assume it’s physical.
That you’ve overdone it.

But often… it’s something else.

Worry.
Stress.
Anxiety.

The constant mental and emotional load running quietly in the background.

Every thought you have uses a little bit of energy.
And when your mind is busy — looping, analysing, trying to figure things out —
those small amounts add up.

So even when your body is still…
your energy may still be being used.

This isn’t weakness.
It’s not something you’re doing wrong.

It’s simply energy being used in ways you may not have realised.

I’ve shared a short video on this if you’d like to understand it more gently 💛

Sometimes the tiredness isn’t from what you’ve done…

It’s from what you’ve been carrying.

The thoughts that keep returning.
The things you’re trying to work out.
The quiet background worry.

It all uses energy.

Not in an obvious way…
but in a steady, ongoing way that can leave you feeling drained
even when your day has looked “manageable”.

Understanding this can be a small but important shift.

Because it moves you away from
“what’s wrong with me?”

towards
“ah… this makes sense.”

I’ve shared a short video exploring this, if it feels helpful to watch 🌿

You rest more.
You cancel plans.
You try to be careful.

And yet…
👉 your energy still isn’t reliable

That’s the frustrating part.

Because it feels like you’re doing the “right” things.

From the outside, you look like you’re coping.
But inside?

It feels very different.

Tired.
Frustrated.
Holding it all together.

That disconnect is more common than you think.

If you wake up feeling like you could go back to bed…

Not ill.
Not completely exhausted.
Just… not rested.

And from there, your day becomes a quiet calculation of:
👉 what you can manage
👉 what you can push through
👉 what you’ll pay for later

You’re not imagining it.

And it’s not just about sleep.

One of the things I often say to my clients is this:
Fatigue is rarely just physical.

Sometimes what drains the most energy are the things happening quietly in the background.

Your beliefs about yourself.
Your core values.
The roles you take on for others.

For example:
If you value kindness and caring deeply, you might always be the person who steps in to support everyone else.

If you value hard work, you may push yourself far beyond what your body can sustain.

And if you’ve experienced difficult events in the past that were never fully processed, those experiences can sit in the background like open tabs on a computer — quietly using up energy.

None of this is conscious.

But it can make a huge difference to how your body feels.

I’ve shared a short video today exploring this idea and how small shifts can start to change the picture.

Many people living with chronic fatigue eventually ask the same question:
“Why me?”

It’s an important question — but it’s often asked with a lot of blame attached to it.
As though the answer must somehow mean we’ve done something wrong.

In my experience, that’s rarely helpful.

What I see far more often are patterns.
Not faults.
Not weaknesses.

Patterns such as:
• being highly driven or ambitious
• setting very high expectations of yourself
• being deeply sensitive to people and environments
• spending a lot of time in your head worrying about the past or the future
• feeling as though you never quite fitted in

None of these are “bad” traits.
In fact, many of them are strengths.

But when they combine and run for years under pressure, they can place enormous strain on the nervous system.

I’ve shared a short video today explaining some of these hidden predispositions.

How many times have you wondered:
“Why can’t anyone fix this?”

If you’re living with chronic fatigue, one of the hardest parts isn’t just the exhaustion.
It’s the confusion.

You may have symptoms that move around your body…
Advice that contradicts itself…
And people telling you things like:

“Just rest.”
“Get more sleep.”
“Try harder.”

It can leave you wondering if something is fundamentally wrong with you.

But here’s something I want to say very clearly:
I don’t believe you’re broken.

What I believe is often missing is information — understanding how chronic fatigue conditions actually work and why they can feel so complex.

I’ve shared a short video explaining this today.

Many people living with chronic fatigue quietly ask themselves the same question:

“Why me?”

> Why does my body seem to struggle when others keep going?

> Why does rest not always seem to help?

Over the years supporting people with chronic fatigue conditions like ME, CFS, fibromyalgia and post-viral fatigue, I’ve noticed something interesting.

Many of the people affected share similar underlying traits:

• they care deeply about others
• they hold themselves to very high standards
• they push through when things are difficult
• they are often highly sensitive to their environment and emotions

These qualities are not weaknesses.

They are often the very traits that make someone a thoughtful colleague, a caring parent, a reliable friend or a compassionate professional.

But sometimes those same traits can quietly place a huge strain on the nervous system over time.

I’ve written a new article exploring the hidden patterns that often sit underneath chronic fatigue.

You can read it here:

👉 Why Do I Have Chronic Fatigue? The Personality Traits and Patterns That Contribute to Exhaustion

If you live with chronic fatigue, you may have wondered why your body seems to struggle when others keep going. The right tools to beat chronic fatigue...

...are key to recovery.

Yep, I said the “recovery” word in the same sentence as “chronic fatigue” - it is absolutely 100% possible to recover from chronic fatigue conditions such as ME, Fibromyalgia and CFS.

I work with a proven process, developed by recoverers, to enable people with chronic fatigue conditions to reclaim their wellbeing and get their lives back.

The process starts with a complimentary 30 minute Health Profile Review. This gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have, and to find out more about the support available.
