It’s Mental Health Awareness Week 🤍🌿

Kindness is Key 🔑

Compassion for yourself allows you to develop self awareness of your needs and encourages taking care of them. It also leads to a deeper ability to acknowledge others in a kinder and more compassionate way and helps you to receive kindness too! It’s pretty powerful stuff!

This article from Happiful Magazine explains perfectly why it’s always a good idea to and gives a good explanation of Compassion Focussed Therapy.

Is this true for you?

Out of sight doesn’t have to mean out of mind - when it comes to mental health we need to take more of a ‘feel it, believe it’ approach than a ‘see it, it believe it’ one.

Our mental health is with us all the time, exactly like our physical health, and having a day that is dedicated to raising awareness is vital to help end the stigma around what mental health actually means- moving from ‘having a mental health problem’ to ‘looking after our mental health’.

It’s happening because we are talking more! Because people who have spoken up will share with you their enlightened, free and happier outlook. People care about you and want to listen - I promise!

Speaking to someone, a friend, a colleague, a family member, a stranger or a therapist can open a space where you can reconnect with yourself, understand and overcome your pain and ultimately begin to build or rebuild healthy relationships with yourself and others.

Talking to someone enables you to move forward in your life, empowering your abilities, embracing your vulnerabilities and helping you to reconnect with your authentic self.

If today we all just check in with ourselves and others, we may just offer each other a moment in time that will change the world.

“Today is World Su***de Prevention Day and an important reminder that everyone can make a difference to others who have reached the point of wanting to end their lives.

A short conversation with another person can sometimes be enough to make a difference.

The acronym ‘WAIT’ is one good way to remember how you can support another person who may be suicidal.” 🌿
