Please can anyone attending the surgery for an appointment be aware of the temporary traffic lights currently near Isaacs Hill. This is causing a back log of traffic all the way down grimsby road past the surgery. Unfortunatly we have been made aware they will be in place for the next 2 weeks.

Thanks

❗️NHS weight loss treatment update for patients.

From today, a new weight loss treatment called tirzepatide also known as Mounjaro® will start to be used by the NHS but it is not currently available via GP Practices in Humber and North Yorkshire.

Once fully available only those that meet certain criteria will be eligible to receive it - this will be based on Body Mass Index (BMI) and certain health conditions.

We know that managing weight can be incredibly challenging, and many people are asking about this treatment, after hearing about how effective it can be in helping with weight loss.

We appreciate that this might feel frustrating, especially when private options are being advertised. Until then, please do not contact your GP or Community Pharmacy (or any other NHS healthcare provider) to access this medicine as they are currently unable to prescribe this.

We've been seeing a lot of instances recently where patients are presenting with a suspected stroke at Grimsby's Emergency Department (ED).

This is not the most appropriate place to be seen, as we don’t have a hyper acute stroke unit at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital.

You should instead ring 999 if you’ve got symptoms and you'll be taken via ambulance to Scunthorpe General Hospital, which has the necessary facilities.

If you do attend at Grimsby ED, you'll be sent to Scunthorpe via ambulance.

More information about the signs and symptoms is on the Stroke Association website: https://buff.ly/FFvcgG6
