Cold weather can cause muscles to tighten, joints to stiffen, and energy levels to dip. For older adults in particular, keeping warm supports circulation, helps maintain flexibility, and reduces the risk of injury or illness.

Here are a few gentle reminders for the season ahead:

🧤 1. Warmth is Wellness
A steady, comfortable temperature at home is more important than you might think. Research shows that keeping indoor temperatures above 18°C helps reduce strain on the heart and respiratory system and supports better mobility, too.

🧦 2. Layer Up and Move Often
Thin, breathable layers trap warmth better than one heavy jumper. Gentle movement (stretching, walking, or light exercise) keeps your circulation active and helps prevent stiffness, especially in colder mornings.

☕ 3. Nourish from the Inside
Warm drinks, soups, and stews help maintain body temperature and hydration. A touch of ginger or turmeric can also support circulation and joint health.

🌞 4. Catch the Daylight
Natural light helps regulate sleep and mood, and even short bursts of fresh air can lift energy levels. Try to get outside daily, even for 10 minutes, especially around midday.

✨ DAY 1 ✨ The Nimble Wish Tree Is Back 🎄

This December, we’re inviting you to join our Nimble Wish Tree, a little corner of kindness, gratitude, and good intentions for the year ahead. One wish will be picked at random in the new year for something special.

Our chosen charity this year is Great Western Air Ambulance. If you’d like to share your support as part of the Wish Tree, simply pop your donation in the pot at reception - every little helps this incredible local service.

There’s absolutely no obligation to donate in order to join in the Wish Tree fun.

Here’s how it works:

🌟 Write your wish, goal, or message of gratitude on one of our tags
🌟 Hang it proudly on the Nimble Wish Tree in reception

We are hoping that by Christmas Eve, our tree will be full of heartfelt wishes from the Nimble community, a reminder of everything we’ve achieved this year and the hopes we’re carrying into 2026. 💫

Together, we’re spreading a little goodwill (and raising funds for a great cause!) one wish at a time.

December is almost here and we have something exciting in store! 🎄

Over the next 12 days we are counting down to the festive season with a whole host of content - join us each day for festive wellbeing tips, self care reminders from our expert team, discounts on services and much more.

On 11th December, Mince Pie Mat Pilates and on 12th December Candlelit Flow Pilates.
