Tudball Opticians is Clevedon's only independent optical practice. A wide range of spectacle frames, including designer brands, complements your vision needs.

The practice has been established for over twenty years, opening on the delightful Hill Road in upper Clevedon in 1996. We are known in North Somerset as high quality opticians and our continuity of care also attracts patients from many parts of the country. We provide a high level of optical service and advice, using the latest lens technology and designs to meet the needs of varied and busy lifestyles. Our clinical services offer sight testing, contact lens checks and supply, enhanced testing and a hearing service.

Just want to give a shout out to Vix taxis. I’ve always used them for our patients here at the practice but needed to use them myself this morning. Such a genuine, reliable, friendly, caring service which is not always that easy to find with a taxi company.
I’ve also learnt this morning that they do long distance as well as airport transfers (I’ll definitely be making use of that service) so if you’re ever in need, please give them a call. Can’t recommend them highly enough. 🚙 😃🩷

🎄✨ I think I’ve officially turned into one of Santa’s elves this week — I’ve lost count of how many Christmas lights I’ve put up! 😂

Clevedon is going full Nutcracker this year, and you know how we all love to make our shop windows sparkle 🤩 Expect twinkly displays, festive tunes, and even a magical Christmas trail the whole family can enjoy!

If you’re on the hunt for gifts, we’ve got you covered — from perfect little stocking fillers to beautiful gift vouchers (because who doesn’t love the gift of style?). New stock is arriving, and it honestly feels like Christmas morning every time we open another box! 🎁

A quick heads-up — our diary for sight tests is filling up fast, so give us a ring if you’d like to get booked in before the year ends. We’ve also opened up January appointments for those getting a head start on 2026 😉

Today we have a new optical advisor with us in the form of Otto from Sow & Arrow. He says he’ll gladly give you his opinion on frames but it will cost you a gravy bone 🦴🐶😂
Also just a reminder that we are open this Saturday 8th November 11-3
With lots of lovely new deliveries landing this week, there are some fantastic new styles to try out.

Clevedon’s charm lies in its independent shops, cafés, and friendly faces — but upcoming parking charges threaten that charm.

If visitors can’t park, they won’t stop. And when the footfall drops, so do local livelihoods.
Nailsea has already seen a 40% drop in footfall since charges were rolled out there, resulting in several shops already handing in their notices.

Please show your support by signing our petition. You can find a hard copy in any of the shops or find the link in our bio to sign online.

Don’t let the North Somerset council spoil our wonderful town. Look how powerful we all were with the seafront. We can stop this happening too!

We’re back open and fully embracing the autumnal mood that today is bringing 🍂
Check out the beautiful colours that are bringing to our window display. I just love all these muted oranges, reds and yellows 😍 It’s time to snuggle up, bring out the cozy jumpers and boots and update your look with some new autumnal inspired frames.

Ps these colours are so easy to wear, they suit all skin tones 😉

We’re off on our holidays!! 😎 (it’s Cornwall so not sure I can guarantee the beach will look quite this sunny) 😂
The practice will close 4pm Friday 3rd October and we will re-open, fully refreshed (or looking like a drowned rat) 😂 Tuesday 14th October.
Can you all just do a little sunshine dance for me please. 😉

With it being the start of September next week, I’d usually be changing the window display over to an autumnal vibe. Thing is, I'm not quite ready to say goodbye to summer (or want to scare it off before my holiday) 😂
I love the change of season usually but am I the only one not quite ready to finish with summer this year?….. 🤔

Our wonderful Lis is celebrating 20 years with us here at Tudball’s. I’m so very grateful for all the work Lis has put in over the years, firstly as a receptionist and then working behind the scenes (along with our equally hard-working Jean) to keep the business running with all things admin and stock control. I truly would be lost without you both.
(I’m also never letting either of them retire) 😂🤣
