Creativity, Hormones & New Beginnings

As women, our creativity often ebbs and flows — guided by our cycles, hormones, and the seasons of our lives. I’ll be sharing more on this fascinating topic soon, but I’ve recently experienced one of the most powerful creative surges yet…

It happened about a month ago while I was bonbarded of love hormones after my waters broke for our 3rd daughter. In that birth space, ideas just poured in. It’s wild how the brain and body transform during those sacred times.

Since then, I’ve felt more aligned than ever with my purpose and vision — and that’s why I’m so excited to announce my rebrand to FreeSpirit Chiropractic ✨

This next chapter reflects who I truly am and the work I love most — honouring the connection between body, mind, and nature.

🎉 Guess who’s coming to EquiFest 2025?!

It’s been a long-term goal of mine ever since I first visited in 2016. At one point I even hoped to present in Paris’s Salon du Cheval — but life (and COVID) threw curveballs. I used busyness as an excuse for far too long.

But this year, the stars aligned. I grabbed the last stall. My baby will be with me, Luke will be supporting behind the scenes, and we’ve got something special up our sleeve.

To my current patients: you’ll get to experience the surprise first. To everyone else — you’ll have to wait for the reveal at EquiFest 😉

🍼 Lip and tongue tie journey + collaboration

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been diving deep into the world of lip and tongue ties after completing my most recent course on the topic and wow, what a learning journey it’s been.

With my first two daughters, I was fortunate to manage things conservatively thanks to my early education and understanding of oral function and development. But sometimes, conservative care just isn’t enough — and that’s when it’s time to explore intervention with the right team.

We recently visited Changing Faces in Hamilton, where we received excellent care and had great discussions around the ideal timing for interventions. It was so inspiring to see how pre- and post-intervention care can make all the difference when it’s part of an integrated, supportive approach for both baby and family.

I’m genuinely looking forward to collaborating more closely with their team in the future — combining the best of chiropractic and oral health support to help our little ones thrive 💕

Exciting news from our family and my practice ✨

Last week we welcomed our beautiful baby girl into the world 💕 She’s doing absolutely amazing, and I’m also feeling great as we settle into this new chapter together.

This Sunday, she and I will be attending a certification with Dr. Jenna, who has helped countless little ones with breastfeeding and latching challenges, tongue-tie, reflux, colic-like symptoms, birth trauma, and cranial tension.

Dr. Jenna has developed the gentle and innovative P.I.P.S. (Pediatric Intraoral Palate Specific) Technique, based on years of international study, research, and clinical care for infants.

I’m so looking forward to learning from her and bringing these skills back to better support the babies and families in our community 👶💛

✨️ What you might not realize about animal chiropractic ✨️
Some quiet thoughts after a busy week…

For years, I’ve been passionately dedicated to supporting horses, dogs, and their humans through chiropractic care. I’ve always owned a human practice alongside my work with animals, which has given me a deep understanding of how the body, mind, and emotions connect across species. This work is not just a technique — it’s about building a deep relationship between people and animals, based on trust and listening.

💛 When you bring your horse, dog, or even yourself to me, it’s never “just a session.” It’s a connection that forms, a space where I carry their story and their well-being in all its complexity. Even when I only see some patients once, they stay in my thoughts long after.

💛 I understand how the body, mind, and emotions are deeply linked. Whether it’s a sensitive horse, a playful dog, or an active human, each session is designed to restore overall balance, release tension, and bring ease to movement. It’s not just about bones or muscles — it’s primarily about caring for the nervous system, the core of true health.

💛 My experience comes from years of running my own human chiropractic practice while also working daily with horses in my care center, supporting everything from sport horses to family pets. This has taught me patience, close observation, and the importance of connecting with each individual.

💛 I’m excited to share that I’m currently pregnant with my third baby, feeling strong and energized to keep supporting you all a little while longer. There are still a few spots available for consultations with me before my maternity leave. After that, Dr. Sheetal will be taking over care for my human patients, bringing the same dedication and gentle approach you’ve come to expect.
