6 weeks to slowly and mindfully build awareness of our body and learning to move with a conscious breath.
Learning to move with intention and awareness to build connection to ourselves.
We will learn basic postures, gentle breath work, and an introduction to meditation.
We move so we can feel the space in the body and quieten the mind so we can sit in meditation.
We move to feel better in our body by building flexibility and stability. To feel strong and support ourselves where we need.
We move to feel more connected and more like ourselves.

Join us on a Saturday morning 9.30am for a 75min class. Held at Clevedon Community Centre.

This week we've been working around the hips for flexibility, mobility and functional movement. Building strength and engagement where we need, but also how we can create space in the body.

Trusting ourselves and developing confidence as we move through our practice and listen to our intuition so that we support ourself with what we need. Working with a sense of effort and ease.

Flow to Open Your Hip & Find Balance
Warrior ll - Triangle - High lunge - Standing Split - Supported Half Moon.

This flow helps you
*Strengthen your legs and hips
*Improve balance and coordination
*Create space through your chest and side body
*Feel grounded and light

Move slowly, breathe steadily (rougly 5 breaths in each hold), and feel into a sense space and balance. See what you notice...and have fun.

Start in Warrior ll / Virabhadrasana

Feet wide, front knee over ankle, arms reaching wide.
Feel your back leg anchor you while your front thigh turns open from the hip.

From Warrior ll transition to Triangle pose / Trikonasana, straighten your front leg and lift quads, tip over staying long through the waist.

Bend your front knee and pivot to face forward into a high lunge / Ashta Chandrasana.

Your back leg stays active, pressing through the heel to lift the back of the thigh.

Shift your weight into your front foot, lift the back leg, and fold forward into Standing Split / Urdva Prasarita Eka Padasana.
Think of lifting from your inner thigh, not your lower back.

Now moving into Half Moon Pose / Ardha Chandrasana open your chest and hips using a block or support. Feel as if the crown of you head, your heart, and your lifted heel are all reaching in different directions.

Breathe steadily, come out when ready and slowly move to the other side :)
