🌸💐 Happy Mother’s Day from everyone at Castlewood Care Home 💐🌸

Today we celebrate the wonderful mums, grandmas, great-grandmas and mother figures who have filled our lives with love, kindness and wisdom.

Many of the incredible women who live here at Castlewood have spent their lives caring for others, raising families, sharing laughter, and creating memories that span generations. Today is a day to celebrate them and everything they have given to the people around them.

Whether it’s enjoying a visit from loved ones, sharing stories over a cup of tea, or simply being surrounded by friends here at Castlewood, we hope today is filled with smiles, love and special moments.

To all the amazing mums in our Castlewood family residents, relatives and team members we wish you a truly lovely Mother’s Day. 💖

New Mother & Baby Garden Workshops at Castlewood! 🌿

We are so excited to welcome Kin – Kindness in Nature to Castlewood for a special intergenerational project. Motherhood is a transformation, and we’ve created a gentle, welcoming space for you to land.

Come as you are, whether you’re tired, flustered, or just ready for a chat, and help us grow our new garden community alongside our residents.

When: Wednesdays (Next session: March 18th)

Times: 09:30–10:30 OR 11:00–12:00

Where: The Greenhouse at Castlewood Residential Home, Clitheroe

Who: Mums with babies (0–1 years, non-walking, little ones in arms, slings, prams, or just starting to crawl. This ensures a calm, manageable environment for everyone to enjoy)

✅ Pram-friendly paths & parking
✅ Baby changing on-site
✅ Indoor backup for rainy days
✅ A warm drink you actually get to finish!

🌟 Meet the Team Friday – Meet Jenny! 🌟

This week for our we are introducing the wonderful Jenny, our Home Administrator here at Castlewood Care Home.

Jenny is the person who keeps everything behind the scenes running smoothly. From paperwork and phone calls to supporting families and staff, she helps make sure Castlewood stays organised and welcoming for everyone who walks through our doors.

In fact, our Home Manager Mitch likes to say that Jenny is the “order to his chaos!”

Jenny is always ready with a friendly smile and is often one of the first people to greet visitors and families when they arrive at Castlewood. She plays a huge role in keeping the home running smoothly every day.

We’re very lucky to have Jenny as part of the Castlewood family

🌸 Happy International Women’s Day! 🌸

Today at Castlewood we’re celebrating some of the incredible women who help keep everything running smoothly… because let’s be honest, without them the place would probably fall apart!

From left to right in the photo we have:

✨ Lauren – Carer, always ready with kindness, compassion and a smile for our residents.
✨ Alison – Senior Carer, helping lead the team and making sure everything runs just the way it should.
✨ Angela – Housekeeper, keeping Castlewood sparkling and feeling like a true home.
✨ Jenny – Home Administrator, the organisational superstar who keeps us all on track.

These amazing women along with the many others in our team help make Castlewood such a special place to live and work. Their dedication, humour and teamwork are at the heart of everything we do.

So today we celebrate them, and all the incredible women working in care everywhere. Thank you for everything you do.

🌟 Friday Meet the Team – Castlewood Care Home 🌟

At Castlewood, we love introducing the amazing people who make our home such a special place to live and work. And we also like to prove that we really do listen!

Last week in the comments someone asked if we could feature a member of our night team… so this week we’re doing exactly that!

✨ Meet BB – Night Carer ✨

BB is one of the newest members of our team here at Castlewood and works through the night helping to ensure our residents are safe, comfortable and well cared for while everyone else is fast asleep.

Working nights takes a special kind of person. While most of us are thinking about our beds, BB is busy supporting residents, completing checks, offering reassurance and making sure everything in the home is just as it should be.

BB has already become a valued member of the Castlewood family and we’re delighted to have them as part of the team.

So next time you’re tucked up in bed sleeping soundly, just remember there’s a whole team of wonderful night staff like BB working hard behind the scenes keeping Castlewood running smoothly.

And remember… if you ask for something in the comments, we might just listen! 😉

There is nothing quite like the bond between generations! ❤️

We had a beautiful day yesterday in the early spring sun, hosting 'Mother & Baby Grow' by KinWorkshops with some very special tiny guests. Seeing our residents’ faces light up while interacting with the mums and babies was truly the highlight of our week.

Nature, nurturing, and new friendships - the perfect recipe for a happy afternoon. Thank you to everyone who joined us! 🌱👶

Even though there was still a little chill in the air today, that didn’t stop a couple of our lovely ladies from making the most of the sunshine ☀️🌷

Wrapped up warm and full of smiles, they enjoyed some fresh air in our beautiful garden here at Castlewood. There’s something so special about those first hints of spring blue skies, bright sunshine and the sound of laughter drifting through the garden.

At Castlewood, we love creating opportunities for our residents to enjoy the outdoors, boost their wellbeing and simply soak up the simple pleasures of the day
