Safe to say that after years of working on my relationship with food and with bodybuilding, every time I go on holiday I feel less and less stressed about how to approach food while still staying aligned with my goals.
For a long time holidays used to feel tricky — trying to enjoy the experience but also not wanting to undo weeks or months of progress.
Now I feel like I’m finally reaching something really important: food freedom.
Yes, I’m still following a plan.
But my approach on holiday is simple:
80% on-plan food
20% off-plan food
That balance allows me to enjoy some treats, try different foods and still come back without gaining pounds and pounds of weight.
It’s not about restriction.
It’s about structure, balance and a healthy mindset around food.
