Brianna Peters writes in Vogue about her experience with receiving cosmetic acupuncture to help with facial scarring.
She reports that the treatment itself was relaxing and she "zoned out" during the sessions.

Brianna admits that one session is going to do very little, "consistency is key" she says, and found that her scars were improved by the end of her 10 sessions, and she felt better in herself about them.

Cupping therapy is an ancient healing method that can help ease back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain amongst other issues. Whereas massage uses applied pressure, cupping uses suction to pull on your skin to increase of the flow blood and reduce what is referred to as “stagnation” to the affected area. In TCM stagnation of qi (energy) and blood is believed to cause pain. In areas of “stagnation” the cupping draws blood to the surface resulting in what can be considered “bruising”, this disappears over a short period of time - (Gwyneth Paltrow was famous for her cupping bruises as were Olympians in the recent games) but generally the treatment risks are low. The clearing of the stagnation allows for the blood to flow through the areas where pain or tension is experienced.

There are a number of different methods in use…. suction cups, rubber suction cups and hot glass cupping which is my preferred method, but all have their place. There are also different techniques in the application which can be adopted depending on where and what it is being used for.
More to follow on this and where it can help.

Cupping therapy has recently seen a bit of a resurgence amongst masseurs and other therapists. It is a practice that I have been using for more than 20 years as part of my treatment protocols.

The following is a treatment I did earlier today. The gentleman suffers from M.S. and finds cupping therapy relieves the tension in his back, he experiences a strong release and a good flow of energy and his movement post treatment is stronger and much more fluid. Cupping is now his go to treatment. (Permission was received from the client prior to posting)
