Sculptra:
What is it? It is a biostimulator, this means the product stimulates your own type 1 collagen.
How? Sculptra has a unique product called PLLA-SCA, (Poly-lactic acid-Sculptra Collagen Activator,
How does this work? The PLLA-SCA when injected into the tissues, this product starts to stimulate macrophages which then recruit fibroblasts, in time will produce new collagen and elastin.
Is it painful ? A little uncomfortable at first, however the product is mixed with local anaesthetic, this helps with any discomfort.
Is there any downtime? minimal downtime, approx 12 hours.
Aftercare? The patient has to massage the area, 5 times a day for 5minutes for 5 days, to avoid any lumps forming.
