🥞 Pancake Smiles at Dalton Court Care Home! 🥞

Today our residents at Dalton Court Care Home had a wonderful time in the dining room watching our Activities Coordinator make fresh pancakes right in front of them! The smell alone had everyone smiling.

After enjoying their lunch, residents were able to choose their own toppings for dessert – from classic lemon and sugar to chocolate spread, strawberries, bananas, homemade chocolate sauce, toffee sauce and syrup. Every pancake was made just the way they liked it!

And the fun didn’t stop there… once everyone had enjoyed their treats, residents had a go at flipping a pancake in the frying pan as an activity. There was lots of laughter, cheering, and a few very impressive flips!

A simple idea that brought so much joy, choice, and togetherness. 💛

💝 Valentine’s Day Sweet Treats & Smiles 💝

Our residents had a truly lovely Valentine’s Day filled with sweet treats, laughter, and togetherness.

This morning, they enjoyed getting involved by chopping bananas, preparing fresh raspberries, and watching as the Activities Coordinator melted the chocolate for our chocolate fountain. Once everything was ready, residents drizzled warm chocolate over the fruit and sat back to enjoy their delicious creations.

While enjoying their snack, everyone relaxed with a cup of tea or coffee and listened to an interesting talk about how Valentine’s Day is celebrated in different countries around the world. It was a wonderful opportunity to spark conversation, share memories, and learn something new together.

This afternoon, residents will be getting creative with a flower-arranging session using beautiful roses, and to finish off the day, they will be taking part in a fun Valentine’s Day themed quiz.

A heartfelt day full of smiles, creativity, and connection — the perfect way to celebrate love and friendship 💕🍫🍓🌹

🍪☕ A Beautiful Afternoon of Baking, Art & Relaxation 🎨

Today our residents enjoyed a lovely hands-on afternoon filled with creativity, laughter, and delicious smells!

We started by baking a cookie cake together — everyone helped mix the ingredients and dollop it into the heart shaped cake tin (in theme for Valentine's Day next week ❤️).

Once the cake was ready, residents took part in observational drawing, using pink roses as inspiration. It was wonderful to see so much focus, creativity, and pride in their artwork.

To finish the afternoon, everyone relaxed with tea and coffee, enjoying a slice of the cake they had helped to make. A perfect moment to chat, unwind, and feel that sense of achievement. 💕

These simple, meaningful activities support creativity, social connection, and wellbeing — and most of all, they create happy memories.
