We still have spaces on our Qualitative Face Fit “Train the Trainer” course!

đź“… Wednesday 26th Novemeber 2025

📍 Limited availability – Book Now!

The Qualitative Face Fit Testing method checks whether a tight-fitting facepiece (such as a disposable or half-mask respirator) correctly fits the wearer’s facial features to ensure an adequate seal.

The training provides attendees with the knowledge and practical skills required to carry out Qualitative Face Fit Testing correctly and confidently. Please note: While this course is often referred to as “Train the Trainer,” it does not qualify participants to train others to deliver face fit training—it is solely intended to certify individuals to perform the testing procedure themselves.

If you provide Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) or are responsible for Health & Safety in your organisation, ensuring RPE is fit-tested and fit-for-purpose is essential. Testing must be conducted accurately, with proper documentation, to comply with legal requirements and protect worker health.

This course is ideal for those who:

✔️ Provide RPE to employees
✔️ Work in Health & Safety roles
✔️ Need to carry out face fit testing

You’ll learn how to properly conduct Qualitative Face Fit Testing to ensure tight-fitting masks seal correctly – protecting your team and meeting legal requirements.

SMC Safety Solutions now offers First-Aid Training for Forestry Operations!

At SMC Safety Solutions, we understand that Forestry is one of the most demanding - and potentially hazardous industries. That’s why we’ve tailored our First-Aid Training specifically for Forestry Companies.

In the 2024/25 reporting year, there were 23 worker fatalities in the agriculture, forestry, and fishing sector in Great Britain, a decrease from the previous year. While the absolute number of deaths is lower, the sector still has the highest fatality rate of all industries, which is 22 times higher than the average, according to data from the Health & Safety Executive (HSE). Major causes of fatal injuries include being struck by a vehicle or object, falls from height, and contact with machinery.

Key statistics for 2024/25

Total fatalities: 23

Fatal injury rate: 22 times higher than the average across all industries

Primary causes of fatal injuries:
Contact with moving vehicles
Being struck by objects
Falls from height

High-risk groups: Older workers and self-employed workers face significantly higher risks.

Specific incidents and safety concerns:

Crushing incidents: A worker was crushed and killed by a tree in April 2024, highlighting the significant risk of being struck by a tree.

Training and planning: The Forest Industry Safety Accord (FISA) emphasizes that workers involved in tree work must be trained, competent, and that all work must be properly planned and supervised.

Training We Have To Offer:

Emergency First Aid at Work + Forestry (EFAW+F)
