We had the pleasure of seeing this beautiful little bundle of joy for two 4D scans, he certainly knew the assignment and was camera ready for both appointments 📸

A HUGE Happy New Year & Thank you to all of our wonderful families who have been into our clinic this year, we are so lucky to work in an environment where we can be apart of each of your special journeys. ✨

We can’t wait for another year of surprises, gender reveals, beautiful babies & probably a lot more star jumps 😊

We reopen Saturday 3rd January at 9am and normal opening hours resume. We can’t wait to see you all!

What week 9 looks like 🥹🤍

Your baby is the size of a green olive 🫒 - around 25mm from head to bottom (that’s almost double the size from week 8!) Your baby’s hands and feet are developing and there are already ridges where their fingers or toes will be!

⭐️ Our scans are only ever performed by qualified and highly experienced Sonographers, so whilst we will always endeavor to make your visit an enjoyable one, the health and wellbeing of our customers and their babies will always be our top priority.

⭐️ We work to the tightest safety guidelines. We have adopted the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Possible) principle, which means that we have our equipment set to the lowest possible settings, whilst imposing a maximum amount of time we will expose your baby to the ultrasound.

⭐️ We also follow BMUS (British Medical Ultrasound Society) guidelines for the safe use of diagnostic ultrasound equipment and we regularly update our procedures based on BMUS guidance.

⭐️ For added peace-of-mind, we only use the most advanced, modern equipment available, which is regularly serviced.

⭐️ In the event of possible anomaly detection, patients are supported & referred to the local NHS early pregnancy assessment unit or maternity service, depending on the stage/gestation of pregnancy.

We know a lot of you will have seen the recent media coverage surrounding unregulated scanning clinics across the UK.

Understandably this maybe be causing some concern & panic amongst expectant parents. Here at Hey Baby 4D Colchester we just want to reassure about the policies we have in place to ensure your experience is a safe one 💖

Qualified professionals: Our scans are only ever performed by qualified and highly experienced Sonographers. The health and wellbeing of our customers and their babies will always be our top priority. Our sonographers are all registered with recognised bodies such as BMUS, HCPC, RCT or SoR 👩🏽‍⚕️

CQC: We are proudly registered, inspected & regulated by the Care Quality Commission and carry a ‘GOOD’ rating. We work to incredibly stringent policies and protocols to maintain the highest standard of service for our local families, which has been recognised by this governing body ✅

Referral Pathways: Our sonographers will refer you to the NHS if they see any potential concern. We are always here to answer any questions and we’ll never let you leave our clinic without discussing the appropriate course or action & where you can find support 🏥

We strongly agree with the call from the SoR for Sonographer to become a protected job title in the UK in the same way as radiographer. That would mean only those who are properly qualified and registered with a regulatory body would be allowed to use that job description. We always advise checking the service you wish to visit is registered with the CQC. If the service is not registered with them they may be practising illegally.
