Few more pictures caplturing the daily life in our home. Some of us loved to read, some of us likes to be pampered and others will join in anything as they like keeping busy. There are many different activities available so everyone can choose how they wish to spend their day.

St Helena Hospice organised a day out to Perrywood Tiptree so we could discuss our future choices over lunch. We also had the opportunity to look around the shop and admire the beautiful decorations and lights.

Our yearly Christmas party 🎉 was as successful as ever. Our chefs prepared lovely food, drinks were flowing and we danced and sang to Christmas songs. Even The Grinch couldn't spoil it for us.

Keeping our minds busy is very important. Our residents love keeping occupied with drawing, playing and colouring.

We have decided to add some greenery to our lounges. Suzanne and Vera worked very hard putting the plants in the new pots.

We would like to say a big thank you to the St. Mary's School for bringing Christmas cards for our residents with lovely messages inside. We love being included in the community and meet all the lovely people. Thank you for thinking of us

Taking residents out to the shops is always a favourite here at Crouched Friars.❤️
Getting out into the local community and enjoying a little retail therapy is something our residents genuinely look forward to, and it gives a lovely boost to confidence and wellbeing.
We recently made the most of a festive trip out and enjoyed a bit of Christmas shopping together. Have you started Christmas shopping yet? 🎁

We have been busy bees this month! 💚
Our residents lent a helping hand repotting new houseplants for our newly refurbished lounges and chose pots that match the fresh look of each space.
The plants have brightened the rooms beautifully and it was lovely to see residents getting involved in something creative and hands-on. Activities like this offer a calm sense of purpose and give everyone a chance to enjoy a bit of shared achievement. 🪴

Here at Crouched Friars we provide an environment which provides guidance and support to maintain and enhance quality of life.
Ideally located in the heart of Colchester, Britain’s oldest recorded town, our sympathetically restored part Grade II listed home supports a small community of residents. Our priority is in delivering care that maintains the dignity and individuality of each person, providing both physical and mental stimulation for those with residential care needs.
Our facilities have been tastefully adapted to provide easy access for those with limited mobility, providing suitable wheelchair access along with a lift to all floors. All of our bedrooms have top of the range amenities to make sure residents are comfortable, including TV points, en-suite facilities and comfortable furnishings.
We work with residents and their families to create an individual care plan that will support the resident in continuing their happy and fulfilling life. Every day, carers spend time with residents to ensure they experience maximum physical and mental stimulation.
Whilst Crouched Friars is designed to be an independent setting for our Residents, the home is fully integrated with the local community. Residents often head out to the local shops, post office, library and the church as Crouched Friars is just a one minute stroll from the town centre shops and amenities.
While providing high-quality care is at the heart of what we do, it’s the personal and considerate delivery that makes us special.
