๐ŸŽ‰ We are excited to now be able to offer lymphoedema treatment alongside our physiotherapy services ๐ŸŽ‰

Having worked in cancer care for many years we have seen the huge impact lymphoedema can have on someone's life. Since completing training we have been enjoying using our skills in clinic and trialling the LymphScanner to enhance diagnosis and treatment. In fact, we've been so excited to have the LymphScanner on loan, we've been scanning anyone that dares to sit still long enough!

So if you, or anyone you know, needs support with lymphoedema, please get in touch.

The quieter months of lockdown proved to be an excellent opportunity for learning new skills!

* Acupuncture has been shown through research to help manage pain and inflammation by stimulating the body's own healing chemicals to aid recovery, and it's been great using it in clinic alongside existing physiotherapy treatments.

* The Pink Ribbons Program was created to enhance post-operative recovery for breast cancer patients. It consists of stretching and strengthening of the shoulders, chest and back, and we look forward to guiding ladies through this program on their road to recovery following breast cancer surgery.

We are continuing to run a COVID safe practice in line with government guidelines, so if you, or anyone you know, are experiencing difficulties as a result of cancer treatment, please get in touch.

With more and more research showing the importance of physical activity in cancer care, I very much look forward to the challenge of developing "Next Steps" exercise classes in the new year! If you know anyone who is struggling with side-effects of cancer treatment, please remember we are here to help.

COVID-19 UPDATE

COVID-19 has interrupted many health services over the last few months, but I am excited to be back up and running with face to face appointments in my Colchester clinic.

I specialise in physiotherapy treatments and advice to help when difficulties occur as a result of cancer or cancer treatments. This includes post-surgery rehabilitation, scar management, safe exercise advice, cancer related fatigue management, and much more.

On booking an appointment I will ask screening questions to ensure it is safe for you to attend the clinic, with the option of virtual sessions as required.

So, if you, or any friends and family, are struggling with symptoms of cancer treatments, please call 07305 589550 and Iโ€™ll be happy to help.

Amy qualified with a first class honours degree in Physiotherapy in 2005. She spent 14 years working in the NHS, initially gaining skills and experience in a wide range of areas before specialising in cancer care for the last 10 years. During this time Amy's passion for supporting people during and after cancer treatments grew. Seeing the positive results that advice and exercise has for people with and following cancer, plus the huge benefits it has both physically and psychologically, has inspired her to specialise in this field.
