Two important lessons from a house fire in Harwich this morning 👇

1. The residents did not have working smoke alarms in their property - they had no early warning that there was a fire upstairs. Make sure you have a working smoke alarm on every level in your home. They save lives.

2. Electrics - the fire was cause by a faulty electrical item. Don’t overload sockets and look out for warning signs like hot plugs, scorch marks, flickering lights or fuses that keep blowing.
