Strength training is about so much more than aesthetics.

For women, it matters for confidence, resilience, movement quality, and long-term health — including bone health. Worldwide, 1 in 3 women over 50 will experience an osteoporotic fracture in their remaining lifetime, and women are at greater risk of osteoporosis than men, particularly around and after menopause.

That is one of the reasons Torie is working with us.

Yes, we are addressing her movement limitations. But this is about more than that. It is about helping her move more freely with her children, age well, and feel strong inside and out.

Because strength training is not just about how you look.

It is about what your body can do for you now, and what it will keep being able to do for you later.

Strong is functional.
Strong is confident.
Strong is protective.
Strong is for life.

Back pain does not automatically mean you need to stop lifting.

Often, it means you need the right assessment, the right modifications, and the right progression.

At Unity, we do not just ask, “What hurts?”
We ask, “What can we build?”

Confidence. Capacity. Strength. Trust in your body again.

For the right person, rehab does not always look like stopping.

Sometimes it looks like rebuilding until the thing that once felt threatening becomes something you can do well again.

Not everything needs stopping. Some things need scaling.

Preparations for Australia at the end of March 🇦🇺

At the end of March, Tommy will be competing for team GB in Melbourne and Hobart, Australia

Over the past weeks Unity has been working with Tommy to get him back playing a full game of real tennis

Tommy came to Unity with an adductor injury, which caused him to be unable to play for 30 min without having discomfort or twinges

He started his rehabilitation with our sports therapist, Maria who has now helped Tommy with getting back into a full game of real tennis without any complaints

We would like to say all best of luck to Tommy!

Preparing for the U.S. Open 🇺🇸

Next week, Vaughan Hamilton will be competing in the U.S. Open Real Tennis Championships at the The Racquet Club of Chicago, one of the most prestigious tournaments in the real tennis calendar.

Over the past few weeks we’ve been working with Vaughan to help prepare his body for the physical demands of tournament play.

In the lead-up to the tournament, our focus has been on hands-on treatment to help Vaughan move and perform at his best.

At Unity Health & Performance we work with athletes across a range of sports, but the goal is always the same: keeping the body moving well so performance can follow.

We’re incredibly proud to support Vaughan as he heads to Chicago and wish him the very best for the week ahead.

Good luck, Vaughan.

After hip surgery, many people think the hard part is over.

Pain may be reduced and the joint repaired, but surgery alone does not restore strength, balance or confidence in movement.

This is where the real work begins.

When Kevin was discharged by his surgeon after hip surgery, he came to Unity to rebuild the physical capacity needed for everyday life. For Kevin, that means being able to walk the dog, do DIY around the house and play with his grandchildren.

Since then we have been working on improving his strength, balance and overall physical capacity so he can return to the activities that matter most to him.

This is where Unity thrives.

Healthcare often focuses on diagnosis and surgery. Fitness often focuses on performance.

We sit in the middle, helping people transition from recovery into long-term strength, resilience and independence.

That bridge between healthcare and fitness is where real recovery happens.
