When you learn about aesthetic medicine, they teach you the layers of skin, the blood vessels, the fat and boney structures that lay beneath. And aesthetic nursing goes even further beyond that, we understand and teach you how your skin works, how your daily choices affect your appearance and we educate you on how to come to a decision about your treatment together.

Whilst I was pregnant and breastfeeding I wasn’t able to use ZO Skin Health, as the products contain retinoids. Once I finished breastfeeding my symptoms of PCOS came back with a vengeance, my skin became oily, congested and acne started to break out. ZO normalises your skin by dealing with the root cause of the problem at the base layer of the skin. It’s taken 3 months of persistent use of medical grade products but my skin is finally less congested, glowing and looking healthier. I’ve still got a while to go, and I’m going to start adding in some more active products to try and get it looking it’s best. Currently my regime is: hydrating facial wash, calming toner, growth factor serum, daily power defence and sheer SPF fluid. Next I’m going to add retinoid and blemish complex, which combines retinoids with tranexamic acid to tackle acne and post inflammatory pigmentation.

My husband has worked in London in finance for most of his career and has been wined and dined frequently, which always made me feel jealous. In the NHS it’s all give and take and you don’t really get many special treats. I got a mug during the Covid pandemic. So now I’m edging into the private sector I’m finally getting some little gifts, which are really appreciated

Spent the evening with learning about a new product to the market. We are not allowed to talk about prescription only products due to advertising restrictions in the UK, so if you want to know what I learnt then get in touch.

Nurses vs nurse practitioners vs advanced nurse practitioners

The difference between choosing a doctor and a nurse in aesthetics is quite nuanced. The limitations in terms of abilities are few and far between because Doctors can inject nurses can inject beauticians can inject. Doctors can prescribe nurses can prescribe. So what you might be looking for is small differences in consultation style attitude or their ability to explain things to you in a certain way. It’s very difficult to define the difference between nurses and Doctors because most characteristics are interchangeable Some nurses treat you in a certain way and some Doctors treat you that same way. But there are some generalisations that can be made.

It uses a blend of lactic acid, citric acid and salicylic acid to:
• Gently remove dull, dead skin cells
• Stimulate cellular turnover
• Improve uneven skin tone and pigmentation
• Reduce the appearance of fine lines
• Smooth rough skin texture
• Give the skin a visible glow immediately after treatment

Unlike deeper peels, it does not cause significant peeling, which means you can leave the clinic and continue with your day. Most patients see:
• Brighter skin immediately
• A smoother, softer skin texture
• Reduced congestion and breakouts
• More even tone over the following week

When performed as a course of 3–6 treatments, results accumulate and can improve:
• Mild pigmentation
• Early photoageing
• Dull or tired-looking skin

Lots of my male hair loss patients are taking DHT blockers, and lots of them aren’t. It’s a personal choice to take the risk, but you should be aware there are risks before starting them. Especially when these drugs are easily accessible via online pharmacy. Topical finasteride is almost as effective as oral, and comes with a lower risk profile. Just to be clear I do not prescribe finasteride or other DHT blockers. loss

Some practical reasons why nurses are the best! Not withstanding that despite not having the same level of education as Doctors we are still really highly qualified and are able to deal with concerns with a degree of clinical astuteness that comes with years of clinical experience, practical experience and excellent bedside manner. We know how to listen to people and care deeply. This matters when you are having aesthetics treatment because if we can’t translate what you want into a clinical treatment plan properly, we will end up treating you for a different concern than you have.

There are a lot of products out there that claimed to encourage new hair growth and to improve the density of the hair you already have, however many of them do not work or give minimum results and are disappointing. Usually, my advice is just to use minoxidil or for men a topical finasteride with combination of minoxidil. However, after learning about this new scalp serum in detail, I feel happy to back it up! And I am selling it in my clinic. If you are suffering from handing postpartum hair loss or just want stronger thicker hair then you should get in touch either for platelet plasma treatment, polynucleotides or the scalp serum.
