It seems so many of us are trying to learn this. We only feel value when we have 'achieved' something or things. Someone recently reminded me that we are human beings not human doings. Let's all get better at stopping before we are stopped! Here's a couple of things you can try to reset the mind chatter and rest the ol body at Spa Rituals.
A facial, a facial has a wonderful meditative effect because the rest of the body is left alone, still. The massage of the neck and scalp releases whatever it is that holds us tight, and if you are a big talker or a teeth grinder, the massage to the masseter (cheek) really is far more satisfying than you'd expect.
A reflexology session, all of the systems are stimulated through the reflexes in the feet, in someone that is too often in flight or flight the adrenal glands really show in the feet and shout out for stimulation, a reset. And it works, 24 -48 hours later you'll notice you dont seem as 'on alert' as you usually are. It's fascinating.
A good medium/deep and slow back massage. It's instant, the moment I press on the shoulders of a client and pause, I can feel muscles start to give. They let go, then, you do too. I hear your breathing change I see you adjust your arms because they feel longer because the trapezius has released.
