👉 In 2024-25, hospices across the UK supported
310,000 people with palliative and end-of-life care.
👉 89,000 family members, friends, and carers also
received direct support.

💚Hospices like ours are at the very heart of
communities.

For a second year we're proud to stand with over 125 hospices
across across England, Scotland, and Wales, for the "This is Hospice
Care" campaign, brought together by Hospice UK.
Hospice care is more than you think, and it's closer than you know.
Somewhere in your life, in your family, your friendships, your
community - hospice care is already making a difference in ways
you might not expect.
But just as the ways we help people grow every year, the need also
grows.
We’re able to support one in four people we care for because
someone - a stranger, a neighbor, someone who never even used
our services - decided hospice care mattered enough to protect.
Someone you'll never meet made sure we could be here for
your community.
Now we're asking you to be that someone for the next
generation. When you leave a Gift in your Will to us, you ensure
that when someone in Forest ofDean googles symptoms at 3am, when a
family needs those crucial words, when life feels impossible -
we're here.
Together, we can make sure that hospice care lives on for
all, for now, forever💚

💚 A day of learning, connection and collaboration at Great Oaks 💚

On Wednesday, more than 30 members of the Great Oaks team came together for a brilliant Staff Training Day, bringing colleagues from across the organisation into one room.

The day included:
✨ A valuable catch‑up with our CEO
🧘‍♀️ Self‑Care with Ali Armishaw
🧠 Learning more about Parkinson’s with Jane from Parkinson's UK Parkinson's UK South West
🌍 An inspiring afternoon on Carbon Literacy, led by Emma and Don from Lighthouse_sustainability

We were delighted to welcome our Chairperson and Trustees, alongside clinical and non‑clinical staff, charity shop managers and volunteers — a real reflection of the whole Great Oaks community.

A huge thank you to Karen and family at Caption Catering for keeping us fuelled with a delicious lunch 💚

Days like this remind us of the strength, compassion and shared purpose of our Great Oaks team 💚
