About
If you give a little, you’ll help a lot.

Here at EIC, we’re seeing more and more people needing help than ever before. Without the support we receive from our incredible industry, we wouldn’t be able to do the work we do and provide help and support to those that need it. In some special cases, what we can offer isn’t enough and that’s why we’re asking you for any extra donations, small or large, to directly help certain people and change their future.

Meet Gerard. Gerard is an electrical engineer, and he needs your help.

At the age of 13, Gerard was involved in a devastating road traffic accident and sustained life-long injuries to his leg. Ever since he's been trying to rebuild his life which has been dominated by his accident. To date, Gerard has had multiple surgeries and has had a heart-breaking, 27 operations on his left leg, 2 hip replacements, and 1 knee replacement. Gerard has suffered a plethora of complications that have not only impacted his physical health but also his mental health, making life much more difficult for him to live independently.

Since battling for 40 years, Gerard came to us at EIC for help. After several treatments and exploring lots of different avenues with our Welfare Team, our orthopaedic specialist recommends that Gerard undergoes corrective surgery to maximise comfort and mobility. The treatment, rehabilitation, and travel costs are estimated to amount to an astonishing £35,000 and we’re appealing to you, to ask for your support please, to help change Gerard’s life forever.

Any donations, big or small will make a significant difference to Gerard and give him the opportunity to live life again.

Thank you as always, for your kindness.

Hi
Everyone I have managed to get the video that I did a while ago regarding my story thanks for your time

10/10/2022

I have over the weekend been doing some tasks in order that I might receive some support I was going through my medical notes and as I have said in my story I have been under the same surgeon since I was 18 an orthopaedic Surgeon on reading the notes sent to my gp it as though this man doesn't read what he has written in the notes before maybe 6 months to a yr later before I had the knee replacement that failed in a letter to my gp he says that from seeing me in his clinic that he discusses that I am in severe pain but xrays today don't show any remarkable changes however with all surgery gerard has had to date a knee replacement might be the next move but this man is too young for this and going by the xrays it will be some time off I have placed Gerard on the waiting list for key hole orthescope on his knee
Forward six months im in for the key hole surgery camera etc in knee after this he wrote to the gp on examination of gerard knee via key hole orthescope he has definite signs of grade 5 osteoarthritis and will need an urgent knee replacement
So six months before xray he says showing nothing but fast forward and when he sees the inside of the knee through key hole surgery he finds vast degeneration and severe osteoarthritis grade 5 as you will know osteoarthritis is grade 1 to 5
1= mild
5 = severe
Unbelievable
