For years, cartilage was thought to be like tooth enamel—incapable of repair. New research proves otherwise: cartilage is living tissue that can be strengthened with the right kind of training.

Short, low-impact sessions of 10–15 minutes—on a bike, elliptical, rower, or leg press—stimulate chondrocytes to rebuild matrix and collagen. The key is moderation: too much or too hard flips the response from anabolic to degenerative.

A phased plan introduces bone adaptation before reintroducing impact, while supplements like glucosamine, undenatured collagen, and AKBA can further support recovery. With patience, cartilage health and pain-free movement are within reach again.

My Story

With a sporting background that includes kickboxing and trail running, I have always had an immense interest in fitness and body movement. I qualified as a personal trainer in 2011 and from my fitness industry experience I became aware of some client’s body movement limitations which left them susceptible to injuries and reduced performance. Clients looked to me for advice on how to overcome their body movement restrictions and this led me onto my new-found passion in Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT). NMT has allowed me to assist others with pain elimination and discomfort, giving them a better opportunity to improve their sporting and daily activities.

NMT specialises in the treatment of soft tissue pain, chronic pain, injury and postural dysfunctions including musculoskeletal injuries related to physical activity using a selection of soft tissue manipulation techniques and deep tissue massage. NMT has a special focus on pathophysiology, aetiology and treatment of Myofascial Trigger Points.
