WALK and TALK

WALK and TALK Walk and Talk Northwest CIC:Mental Health support group using walking and conversation for all ages, genders, and backgrounds.

We’re youth-work informed, with a men’s group. A volunteer-led, community-engaged initiative raising funds for other charities.

This year has been tough for so many, and Walk and Talk wants to do its bit for the community. We’re giving Christmas meals to 10 families, which can be enjoyed on Christmas Eve or Boxing Day, and families can choose their preferred date.

We are working with Colne Open Door Centre to provide this offer for some of the families in their care. We are able to provide a lovely sit-down, two-course Christmas meal plus drinks for 10 families now, thanks to WL Cleaning services, LPK Facilities Management and Boss Cleaning specialists and an anonymous donor, who all kindly called me and offered to help support more families with their generous donations. This is what Christmas should be about—kindness and love. Thank you. ❤️

What you’ll receive: a booked table at The Thatch and Thistle, Nelson plus the 2 course Christmas menu and drinks for the family.

Confidentiality: all nominations and applications will be kept strictly confidential. We will only share information with our small organising team as needed to arrange bookings. We will not publish the identities of the winning families.

What to include when you get in touch: the number of people in the family, any dietary considerations we should be aware of, and a brief note about why you’re nominating them (optional).

Thank you for helping us spread a little extra kindness this Christmas. 🤶🎄🎅🧑‍🎄🎁

Tonight our annual Glow Walk lit up the night! ✨👣 Amazing turnout with kids walking hand-in-hand with their families, and everyone enjoyed their glow treat bags—sweets, choc, glow sticks, specs, and wands.

We spotted some new sculptures along the Pendle Sculpture Trail. This is one of our favourite events of the year, and it wouldn’t be possible without our wonderful community. A massive thank you to everyone who joined and made it so special. If you have moments you’d like to share, drop them in the comments or send them to us to feature.

World Mental Health Day Walk

Today we took staff from The Complete Construction Company NW Ltd, The Complete Scaffolding Company NW Ltd, and a few others on a nice 2-hour trek.

The lads and ladies had some great chats and the feedback was that they really enjoyed it. Big shout-out to the management team, Luke and Sarah for letting them take the day off—that’s a solid boost for staff wellbeing.

A big thank you to Thatch and Thistle, Nelson for organising a fantastic spread for us – delicious snacks, tea, coffee and great hospitality.

Big thumbs up to a brilliant local Company for looking after their people. Here’s to more walks, chats, and wellbeing moments together.

“Mental health is not a destination, but a journey. Walking together makes the path a little clearer.”🧡

If you’d like Walk and Talk at your workplace, give us a shout. We’ll tailor a wellbeing walk to suit your team.

This evening, Maj took a group of young people from The Manchester College, King’s Trust programme, on a trek.

From Coldwell Activity Centre to The Doorway to Pendle, near Boulsworth Hill. These young people were absolutely amazed by our beautiful scenery. They took in the views and snapped lots of photos 📸. A great group with lots of good conversations. It was a perfect evening for a walk.

Thank you to Coldwell Activity Centre - Group Accommodation for this fantastic opportunity 😊
