Post Graduate Medical Education at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

The O&G hub was held on 19th March 2024 in the Simulation Suite, Centrum and was attended by 24 Foundation doctors from NNUH, James Paget, Ipswich, West Suffolk and Colchester Hospitals.

The junior doctors had the opportunity to learn and practice vaginal and instrumental delivery, mechanisms of labour, laparoscopic skills, ultrasound and transvaginal scanning.

The ENT hub was held on 16th February 2024 in the Simulation Suite, Norwich Research Park and was attended by 24 Foundation doctors from NNUH, James Paget, Ipswich, West Suffolk and Colchester Hospitals.

The junior doctors had the opportunity to learn and practice on epistaxis, removal of foreign body in ear, tracheostomy simulation, drainage of peritonsillar abscess and flexible nasendoscopy.

The Foundation Human Factors hub was held on 6th December 2022 in the Simulation Suite at Norwich Research Park and was attended by 24 Foundation doctors from Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, James Paget, Ipswich, West Suffolk and Colchester Hospitals.

The junior doctors had the opportunity to learn and have group discussions on aspects of Human Factors and how this applies in medicine.

On Friday we ran the Health Education England NHS Level 1 Paediatric Dentistry hands-on session at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This is part of a 30 hour CPD course that includes interactive virtual lectures, case-based discussed, hands-on practical skills and peer review sessions.

On Wednesday we ran the Health Education England NHS Level 1 Oral Surgery hands-on session at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Delegates performed surgical techniques on a pig’s head model including; bone guttering, using rotary instruments and practicing a range of intra-oral suturing techniques.

Special thanks to our brilliant speakers Jennifer Parrish and Vyomesh Bhatt who are delivering this course over 22 hours.

The Foundation Psychiatry hub was held on 11th November 2022 in the Simulation Suite, Centrum, Norwich Research Park and was attended by 14 Foundation doctors from Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, James Paget, Ipswich, West Suffolk and Colchester Hospitals.

The junior doctors had the opportunity to learn and have group discussions on aspects of Psychiatry and case studies.
